@fred-w

Upper left corner of the image posted by @aboammar says "Upgrade: Vegas Pro Edit." Seems clear to me that the contents indicated are what is included with Vegas Edit Pro upgrade.

The image that I posted earlier is equally clear, but only included SpectraLayers Pro 7 - with Vegas Pro Edit.

Vegas Pro 18 Edit, Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinum, Magix Video Pro X16, Magix Movie Studio Platinum 2024, Xara Designer Pro X19, Samplitude Pro X8 Suite, Music Maker 2025 Premium, SF Audio Cleaning Lab 4, Sound Forge Pro 16 and more.

Upgrade: Vegas Pro Edit means it's an upgrade from Vegas Pro Edit 17 to Vegas Pro 18.

No it doesn't.

@surferj45, @john-brown,Yes, if the "contents" are itemized, and those contents are then switched, that part I certainly agree with, yes,(because the "add ons" are often confusing, arbitrary, don't last past the life of that particular Version #, are used to get you to buy now, and so forth). ON THAT WE'D AGREE, BIG YES. So whatever is clearly itemized should be, then, delivered, company mistake or not.

Now, do those offering constitute which "level" of Vegas you would expect, well, that depends. If the listed offerings are EXACTLY the same as the PRO, and really are what separates the two, inclusive of ALL such add-ons (vs. Edit) then perhaps.

@surferj45, @dirk-g Let's define our terms:

"Update" is go from version 3.204 to version 3.607.
"Upgrade" is go from VP Edit 17 to VP Edit 18 (NOT Vegas Pro Edit 17 to Vegas Pro 18)
These are how the terms are used in every software in this category that I can think of.

One could, of course, upgrade in Ver. # AND in level, but the term Upgrade, by itself, doesn't

imply that.

Update is non paid, most often, and Upgrade you pay. That has been the case from day one,
or at least since Vegas 4 when I started.

Normally speaking, the "upgrade" is always going to be towards the same "model" or level of the program you're already using. I mean, wouldn't you normally expect that?

They're not saying: "Hey you, this is your lucky day; for a limited time, we're going to offer you the higher level for the same upgrade price you'd normally pay for Vegas Pro Edit. Offer expires in five minutes, so jump on it."

You're engaging in a sort of wishful thinking. Like a free lunch. It doesn't exist. I think you understand that. Why are you not happy to upgrade to the normal version of Vegas that you already enjoy? All of the offerings are actually called "Vegas Pro" = Vegas Pro Edit, Vegas Pro Suite, and simply Vegas Pro.

The color match thing? it's a real thing in their marketing, exactly to cut down on such confusion, and I think you know that as well. You chose simply not to "double verify." IOW, ignore that ("I'm not concerned with color..." not convincing.) If you did not hear it from dad, let me reiterate: 'If it SOUNDS too good to be true....'.etc... Let's just support the program if we like it and wish them to do well so they'd stay in business, not look for "deals" that are not real nor expected.

Sure. Support the program.

Also, support the brand - by giving them criticism where it's due.

And shoddy communication is worth every ounce of BRUTAL criticism, especially when its been repeated years on end across the board.

No amount of brand loyalty should excuse unchecked misconduct, intentional or otherwise. That's how I see it.

@Mohammed_Anis I have been as critical as any, but I don't see this supposed "bait and switch" as anything other than a one time mistake from marketing.

I've not seen it before, since Vegas 3, and certainly Magix as a company, of whom I've been a customer since 2001, never, so, why overstate the situation?

A small team within a larger company dealing with worldwide distribution in multiple languages and currencies, with third party offerings makes a mistake? Oh my, oh my goodness....

It's time again to either contribute something helpful or calm down.

Perfectly calm, thanks, I'd think it OK to defend the Vegas brand from misconceptions and/or misunderstandings that should be seen as such.

O.k., I take another approach. Seems like for me it's time to have some sleep.

I never received my serial number for the VEGAS Post Suite 18 upgrade, can someone provide a link to the proper customer support staff on this serious issue? Thanks in advance

Kind Regards,
