In principle, you should be able to upgrade (at a special "upgrade" pricing) to any of the VEGAS Pro 18 options, if your serial number qualifies. In the VEGAS Online Shop click "Information regarding the upgrade" and you'll see this text: "You can upgrade at a reduced price with a previous version or other authorized product. Please have your login details or serial number ready." You'll be informed if it does not qualify.

Note that there is a one upgrade per serial number policy which means that "only one user can make an upgrade from a previous version", i.e. use the serial number to get upgrade pricing.

If you "upgrade", test with the free trial first "to check compatibility with your system and to avoid disappointment in case you dislike any new features or restrictions".

Hello. I am trying to upgrade from V14 to V18 Vegas Movie Studio Platinum. I have seen the message "You can upgrade at a reduced price with a previous version or other authorized product. Please have your login details or serial number ready.". I have entered my serial number for V14 but I get the message that it does not qualify. It seems previous version maybe has to be V17? I have asked the same question to customer support with my details to see what they say.

@Martin-Rossiter Please note Movie Studio Platinum 18 is not Vegas Movie Studio. It's a different product. It's Magix Movie Edit Pro, slightly modified, under a new label.

Thank you, EricLNZ. I have upgraded to Magix Video Pro X. I'm hoping it is the right move to a product that is continuing to be developed and supported going forward :-)

@Martin-Rossiter Personally I would have updated to Vegas Pro 19. Firstly because it's basically the same as Vegas Movie Studio but with much, much more. Secondly it is continually in development and now the Vegas team don't have VMS to work on they can put more into Pro.

Is it Video Pro X 13 that you have? If so be warned as it appears to still be very buggy and causing problems.
