With this sale of V19 Pro Edit, it says 1 year license, is it one year of updates or 1 one year of actual use and then it no longer works?

Can i keep using it after the 1 year?

Vegas Pro 19 is a retired version, no updates are available.

For clarity on their terms and license, contact Humble Bundle directly.

I am attempting to get information about this new Humble Bundle offer. I will let you know what the "1 year license" actually mean, because I really have no clue right now.

I've just read quite a few online blogs but no-one seems to know for sure, but they do mention that in the past they've received perpetual licences & now it's changed, they also talk about Humble being a subscription service & that 1yr is just a 1yr subscription, again they're very vague about that.

Have a look at this, it mentions 12mths subscription but below it says 1yr licence 🤷‍♂️

The information I have received is that the licenses for this Humble Bundle offer do indeed expire after 1 year.

Magix really likes to come up with new ways to buy VEGAS.

Robbie wrote on 4/28/2024, 7:38 AM

So that means you're effectively buying a 12 month subscription? Interesting that as I post 391 bundles have been sold with the leaderboard stating an average purchase price of AU$32.07, which is just below the AU$32.09 purchase price for the 17 item bundle - which suggests very few purchasers have bought the entire 31 item bundle that includes Vegas and Sound Forge.

Cheers, Robbie

Though HB's information about the deal is ambiguous (is it a purchase or a subscription?) there is no mention of a renewal process for the next 12 months... which leads me to conclude that it is a purchase for 12 months and then that's the end.

Can it be upgraded to a normal license at a discount? If not it's basically a discounted subscription?

Wolfgang S. wrote on 4/28/2024, 8:39 AM

I would assume that after 1 year everything is disontinued.

I assume that there are no upgrade possibilities. Vegas Pro 19 and Soundforge 16 are outdated products. If it works for you, you are lucky. If not ...

Hey, one can purchase that for 1€ or more, what do you expect?

Previous HB Vegas Pro offers were to my knowledge able to be upgraded to the latest VP version via the usual VEGAS upgrade process. Whether or not that applies to this HB offer is another question.

The previous HB versions made some sense as they aren't that old (I still mainly use 19 so it's not a bad program) and you can upgrade for much cheaper than buying a new full-price version. If this doesn't include upgrades either.. I don't really understand its value as a marketing strategy or to users.

I really wish Magix had fewer ways to buy the product and with less gotchas.

Wolfgang S. wrote on 4/28/2024, 9:03 AM

I said "I assume" - but I may be wrong!

Not sure if you will get serials for Vegas Pro 19 or Soundforge 16 - that will allow you to upgrade with Magix to purchase a newer version.

But as said: I may be wrong.

HB offered also a bundle with VEGAS Pro Edit 19. "This bundle was live from Nov, 30, 2023 to Dec. 31, 2023".
