"I've already purchased VP13 Suite and VP13 so I already have two licenses so whatever, one more wont hurt will it? lol! Anyway, got to support the company in charge of creating my beloved NLE! "
I just don't get the concept of throwing money away as a sign of support....
I haven't received the email offer here in the UK. Checked spam but nothing there. Has Sony given MAGIX the full customer database? I have received emails from MAGIX but not that one. The Sony upgrade has usually been discounted for a short while once a new version is released so I hope MAGIX will follow suit. In which case the price to upgrade will fall to $149 so no sense in buying this offer for Vegas 13 owners. Anyone who has more money than sense and wants to help out poor little old MAGIX can send their donations to me and I'll pass them on.
I'm in the uk and didn't get the offer either. I wondered if it was a US/Canada offer only. I used the link a few posts up and upgraded without issue. The only issue was that the iZotope Nectar download link downloaded Dvd Architect, I put in a ticket and the next day they sent me the correct link. Good on them for a fast response.
hell buy 5 or 6 copies, had them out to your friends..lol..I no get it.
.I have13 and I know they have waay more money than me, can think of better charitable places for 199.00
I only have MS12 Platinum and MS11 edition. Was interested in the Pro suite with hitfilm. Is this just the NLE app? Also, anyone knows if this is for a full version or is this an upgraded version ?
It's for a full version of Vegas Pro 13 with free upgrade to Pro 14. The package with Hitfilm is Vegas Pro 13 Suite. This is not the suite version and does not include hitfilm.
Remember you can always use Hitfilm Express free, it's just not as convenient.
As a studio users for many years, I just took the offer. I just tried Elements 14 and found while a good program, I have just too many years of using MS. I downloaded the new Quick Time and installed only codecs. One happy user here. What convinced me to do it was using another MAGIX program which I really like.
I was on 11 and just upgraded to 13. 11 to 13 at $200 is a fair deal. If 14 is released, this is indeed a very good deal. I am glad I saw this thread, because I never got the email even tho I am in the Sony mailing list.
I just tried to purchase the Vegas 13 + 14 via the email promotion and the webpage would not take my order. I tried twice thinking I may have entered some wrong payment numbers. After the second rejection I tried to call using the phone number on their email promotion page and was only directed in a circle by an automated phone tree ... no way to get a human being. So I gave up. Then I did a search of Magix on the internet hoping to find a better phone number and found a complaint (from 2009); the one thing that caught my eye was that the customer had to call Germany to be able to speak with a "customer/tech" service person. You Uber Techies may be able to navigate around and live with such stuff but if Magix can't make dealing with them easier then I guess Vegas 12 is where I stop.
Update 07/08/2016: After reading deeper into the Magix homepage I have found that in order for U.S. purchases by credit card the card needs to be able to be accepted in Europe/Germany. In my case that means calling my credit card company and having them release my card for European purchases. I don't know if that means a hard copy of the Vegas software would have to be shipped from Germany to the States ... and if that means there would be a duty fee and shipping charges. Things were so much simpler back in the days of Sony. Vegas 12 has been real good to me so I think I'll sit tight for now.
When I bought Vegas 13 Pro I got a serial number and then just downloaded VP from Sony. I think the offer is for a digital copy. Concerning payment problems, sometime credit card companies need verification via the phone to process the order. I've experienced this myself thinking there was something wrong with my card when it was the bank placing a block on certain overseas purchases until I verified it with them.
I have NEVER received any email from Sony. I have licensed several versions of Vegas, Cinescore, Acid, sound libraries and loops (all registered) but nothing.
I too already bought V13 at the full upgrade price. Call me a fool.... I guess that should actually be 'upgrayyed'.
I was thinking of pulling the trigger, but when someone mentioned that there is usually an upgrade offer for $149, I thought maybe I should wait. I would definitely upgrade from Pro 11 to 14 for $149. However at the $200 price point, my money would be better spent upgrading from Mocha 4 to Mocha 5 pro. Thought I'm sitting on the fence with Mocha 5 also, since at some point they usually have a special priced offer.
John, if I recall correctly, I think you said a while ago that you qualify for the academic version of Mocha (as do I). Note that the academic version includes BOTH the standalone AND plugin of Mocha (which is really useful if you use After Effects). I'm definitely pleased that I upgraded.
"I was thinking of pulling the trigger, but when someone mentioned that there is usually an upgrade offer for $149....." Yes, however that was with Sony, will Magix give the same offer?
I frequently get offers to upgrade to their Pro editor from Movie Edit Pro and that is usually $200 (£150).
Time will tell I guess, if you are happy with Vegas Pro 11 then there is no hurry.

This will be my last year eligible. The improvements look very good.. Better gpu acceleration and improved integration with Fusion. Can you tell me if Mocha 5 has any better integration with Davinci Resolve?
John, on their website they say that the OFX version of the plugin for Resolve and Nuke is coming soon. I assume that until that happens, the current integration with Resolve is the same as in v4 (I have not tried it myself).
I'm a few weeks away from coming up with the cash for Mocha, so I think I will download the trial version and give it a go until I update my license. I'll hold off on Vegas to see if they do an upgrade sale. If not, no big loss I can wait until 15.
If Mocha releases a plug in for resolve, that would be mind blowing.
They state specifically that they will release it. Take a look at the web page and watch the video at the 22 second mark here: http://www.imagineersystems.com/features/plug-in-option/
Whenever Imagineer Systems says that they will do something, they always come through.
I've been sitting on the fence about this offer because I already have Vegas 13 and I'm wondering if Magix won't be offering a different deal to current 'Sony' Vegas 13 users. I wish they were not so ambiguous about whether this offer is also intended for current Vegas 13 users, or just pre-13 users.
TBH, when the original announcement was made, I toyed with the idea of going back to Premiere after many happy years with Vegas, but only because Premiere is part of the CC suite which I'm already paying for. It's not what I really want to do--I still like Vegas and would prefer to continue using it but the sale of Vegas to another company that I have no existing relationship with, and then this puzzling offer (puzzling to Vegas 13 users, I mean,) makes me hesitant about upgrading immediately.
It would be helpful if somebody from Magix could pop in and explain if Vegas 13 users should take advantage of this offer or wait.
Magix also needs to give current users a peek at what Vegas 14 will have to offer, otherwise they're asking the current Vegas 13 user base to upgrade to a unseen product and switch over to a completely different company purely on faith.
I hope we hear more news about Magix intentions for Vegas and current 13 users before the offer expires.
