Can you help me ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Because I'm not going to move forward with my studio projects.

In case you've forgotten, answer "B" and "C" in this POST and add it to your post here.

As RogerS asked ...

Which audio effects specifically?

And are they VST2 or VST3 audio FX?

If they are 3rd party audio FX, have you checked with their product webpage/s to make sure that they are compatible with Vegas Pro?

What is selected under options/ preferences / audio device? Screenshots of the VEGAS preferences related to audio would be helpful.

Can you check and see if there is a new audio driver for your motherboard? Try Microsoft Sound Mapper, or an ASIO driver if there is one.

I don't think you need a new sound card.

Instead of project properties, what about VEGAS preferences- try a different audio device?

What is the exact name of the audio Fx are you using?

Are your headphones or speakers attached to the motherboard? (I'm wondering what the NVIDIA audio driver is)

@RogerS said: "I'm wondering what the NVIDIA audio driver is"

Typically, that kind of hardware/driver might be used to play audio through the HDMI port to speakers in a display without extra cabling. I tried to use the speakers in my display for my office machine and the sound generally sucked the full length of the tube. YMMV

If @benoit-berdoux is not using the NVIDIA drivers, it would be less confusing to disable the device(s) in Device Manager.

How are the speakers or headphone connected to your computer.

In VEGAS preferences (options/preferences/ audio device), did you try a different audio device?

the second point I haven't tested yet...

I will disable all HDMI audio drivers I am not using

Thanks, let us know how these changes go and if it helps.

If it doesn't help, if VEGAS used to work, but doesn't anymore, sometimes a program reset can fix it. Instructions here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/

benoit-berdoux wrote on 10/23/2023, 9:04 AM

hello, after having deactivated one or the other thing.....it is clear that it does not work, I will give you a screen shot of the details of the bug,
on the other hand, small precision:
the bug arrives at a specific time! that is to say, when I play my clip in my timeline, and at the same time I import one or another audio effect, its direct bug!

if I pause the cip and add the audio effects, apparently it no longer bugs.....

don't understand anything anymore :)

benoit-berdoux wrote on 10/23/2023, 8:06 PM

I spoke too quickly :(
It is clear that nothing works, I will give you again (more complete) the crash message!
if you can solve my problem then ok
if not next week I request the cancellation of this purchase
and will definitely switch to finelcut
because I can't continue to waste a lot of time in completely unstable post-production!

benoit-berdoux wrote on 10/23/2023, 8:12 PM

maybe it's my version of the downloaded software that is bugged!!
I just did a new installation from the installation file received by email, but it will directly look for the compressed file stored somewhere.. and therefore does not download a new file to me!!

RogerS wrote on 10/23/2023, 10:23 PM

I doubt it's the installation but in general you can get all the files you need here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-where-can-i-download-vegas-pro-and-other-vegas-software--104782/

Before giving up, try changing the audio device in VEGAS.

You can also try a known good project from my signature in case it's an issue with your media. Feel free to add whatever audio Fx you want to the audio and see if it still crashes.

Consider a reset, too.

@benoit-berdoux final cut is for the apple/mac ecosystem, not available for windows...

That being said, try not to lose hope, try to approach your issue in small steps and try to find the culprit. Vegas stability when actively editing while a clip is playing on the timeline has always being a weak point for Vegas (although it has significantly improved on that point versus the past). A fast and high end pc with a lot of system memory and a videocard with a lot of GPU memory, proper cooling and a robust over dimensioned powersupply, will help with stability.
