Vegas Movie Studio 16 missing text and title options

GJF wrote on 5/1/2019, 6:58 AM

I just installed and started using Movie Studio 16 (I'm a long term user of Vegas Movie studio products). When I go to the "Media Generators" tab I get 7 options, one of which is "Titles and text." When I click on that there's only 1 selection - it takes me into the "Titles and text" wizard. What happened to the dozens of different types of title and text effect types? You used to see options to have bouncing text, text sliding onto the screen, exploding text, etc. Where is all that stuff and why can't I see it?

That change is due to the "simplified" Video FX, Transition, and Generated Media windows in the Movie Studio 16 versions (see online Help (F1), What's new in version 16). We'll see if this has been reconsidered in later builds.

Regarding titlers in MS/MSP 16, see also this comment.

Thanks...this helped a lot. You just have to know what the presets are! (before you could see them)

I hate when vendors remove features you used to use to "improve" the product. That said, your link to the comments with the instructions on how to restore the "(Legacy ) Text" saved me! If I do that, select "(Legacy) Text" and then chose the preset, "Transparent text" I'm back to having the simple ability to have a solid background with text overlaid on top of it to end the video. A lot of work to use what used to be one of the simplest things to do in prior versions BUT it worked! Thanks...

I really hope also that this simplified Video FX, Transition and Generated Media windows is reconsidered and that the previous layout of all presets is re-established. I sometimes need to put a preset FX on multi selected events, which isn't possible anymore with the new layout.
