Vegas Pro 15 Will Not Open Due To Activation Problem

I have had Vegas Pro 15.0 installed on two computers in my home, using one license, for a couple of years I have always been able to use both. Now for some reason, Vegas is unusable on one of them. I didn't make any software or hardware changes to the machines, and I have projects in the works on both of them. I tried the activation procedure that pops up when trying to start Vegas, but it will not let me do it. I get error code 18. If I deactivate Vegas on the affected machine and then attempt to reactivate it, will I lose the projects I'm working on? I couldn't find any solutions on the Magix website or support forum, and there is no way to speak to anybody, since there are no support phone numbers or email contacts. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
