(Vegas Pro 16) Stuck on "Creating video plug-in factory..." and more!

Insayno wrote on 11/5/2020, 9:19 AM

I didn't know what category to put this under.

This all happened randomly yesterday, no updates on anything anywhere, unprompted.

Vegas Pro 16.0

I opened Vegas to get to work, it gets to "Initializing GPU-accelerated video processing..." crashes, and then the problem report window pops up. Logically the first step is to restart the PC, didn't fix it. Next step is reinstall. Upon reinstalling I approached a different issue. The launcher gets stuck on "Creating video plug-in factory..." and never progresses, only way to close is task manager. Upon troubleshooting, I found out that deleting "ofx360Stabilizer.ofx.bundle" and "ofxRotation.ofx.bundle" causes the launcher to get past the plug-in factory just to crash at "Initializing GPU-accelerated video processing..." once again. Upon even more troubleshooting I found out that if I disable my onboard GPU (Intel UHD Graphics 630) it allows Vegas to boot. GPU ACCELERATION IS TURNED OFF BY THE WAY!

Hardware: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Insayno/saved/cGDq4D

Windows 10

Obviously, neither of these solutions are ideal. I've been troubleshooting for over eight hours. In fact, I'm now missing a bunch of filters, namely a gaussian blur which I need. I have deadlines, I need this program to work. Please help.

If it worked before, at least try resetting. Follow the instructions closely.

Why Oh Why would you want intel graphics when you have many many times more powerful 1080ti. I have the 1080ti and it works great with Vegas. Disable the intel graphics and see how you go.

(Intel 3rd gen i5@4.1GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, 1080Ti GPU, Windows 10) Not now used with Vegas.

13th gen i913900K - water cooled, 96GB RAM, 4TB M2 drive, 4TB games SSD, 2TB video SSD, GPU RTX 4080 Super, Windows 11 pro

Alright.

Well I just reset my Vegas due to VKMast's request so most of the settings are the default. I also don't have a "Options/Preferences/FileI/O" tab so I don't know.

Video tab:

Don't know driver number for GPUs, but Intel's was last updated on 9/5/20 so probably the most recent. Nvidia was last updated on 10/22/20 and I KNOW that's the most recent.

Not what I meant. Everything I have runs off of my 1080Ti except one monitor. The 1080Ti is set as the default GPU on everything, including Vegas according to the GPU acceleration options (which are turned off). Disabling the Intel GPU allows Vegas to boot, but I've been able to boot this exact EXE for YEARS with no issue.

Sorry my fault , it is an important setting but only available in Vegas 17 and 18.
I did not ask for your latest drivers but for the drivernumber you can find in your
Control Panel / Device Manager / Display Adapters / "Rightclic" / Properties / Driver

I assume you mean driver version then.

1080 Ti - 27.21.14.5709

UHD Graphics 630 - 27.20.100.8682

Both of which are up-to-date.

j-v wrote on 11/5/2020, 11:12 AM

Almost

For 630 is the latest 27.20.100.8853
The best latest for Nvidia is 27.21.14.5671 as Studio driver, not the Gamedriver ( Vegas development told us).
But yours cannot be responsible for your problem, so if you followed exactly the steps of the reset ( also deleting the cached files) I cannot futher help you, sorry.

Okay. I changed literally nothing. Everything is exactly the same on my computer. It just opened with no issue. I don't understand.

VEGASPascal wrote on 11/6/2020, 3:22 AM

@Insayno The issue is fixed without doing anything? Sounds like a driver issue of your Intel gpu.

BTW: "GPU ACCELERATION IS TURNED OFF BY THE WAY!" means turned of for video image processing. You need your card for rendering (encoding & decoding... like NVEnc or Intel QSV) and the preview.

Seen so many issues posted when running both Intel GPU and Nvidia GPU together.

Unsure as nothing updated anywhere. Nothing about my system changed from when I wrote this message other than what I said, which at the moment didn't fix anything.

There's a lot of reasons AMD is winning that fight right now.

Do you work alone on this PC, or is there someone else who puts something around there?
