Vegas Pro 17 can't resize trimmer window preview or timeline

So I seem to be unable to resize the preview size or the timeline in the trimmer window. In past versions, hovering over the line seperating the preview from the timeline turned the cursor into a up/down arrow where you can drag to resize. This isn't working for me and it's driving me nuts as the timeline is microscopic and I can barely see anything. Is this a bug? Or did functionality change somehow?

Below is screenshot from Vegas 15. Whe I'm trying to do is scale up the timeline so I can see the audio bumps.

Re the timeline, seehttps://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-17-first-impressions--116502/?page=4#ca725226 . Please read also this thread.

The Trimmer window can still be resized by dragging the <II> type of thingy that you see when you hover your mouse over the border between the windows.

Thanks but the cursor with the <||> never appears on hover. That's what I'm saying. I'm well versed in Vegas, works fine in 16, 15, on the same machine. According to thread you shared its a bug. 😕 How does Magix miss these things? This is core functionality IMO.

The <II> appears for me still in VP 17 as well and I can resize the actual trimmer window. The confirmed bug is that "Trimmer's timeline can't be dragged up to expand it vertically", i.e. cannot "enlarge the trimmer window waveforms in VP17". (Suggested workaround in the "this thread" link in my earlier comment until it's fixed.)
