Sounds like you need to purchase a legitimate copy of VEGAS, as well as Windows 10, as VEGAS is not compatible with Windows 7 and has not been for a long time. Any problems with third party plugins should be mentioned to the people who develop those plugins, assuming your copy of that plugin is legitimate as well.

AFAIK, Magix product serial codes were never in the installer data (optical disc or otherwise).

I run Windows 7 because I have several programs for 7. I have no choice. The only problem I have is with the NeatVideo plugin. I never had any problem before with the CD I bought. It just happens. Is it a bug in my CP.

Neat Video is legit. I bought it from their website. They tried everything and told it was Sony Vegas fault.Thank you!!

"I have several programs for 7. I have no choice."

I had a number of programs that would not install on a fresh copy of Windows 10. So far, I've gotten all of them to run on Windows 10 by doing and in-place upgrade from Windows 7 Professional to Windows 10 Professional. Microsoft seems to be more gracious about not destroying a running system for people than they are with a clean out of the box installation of Windows 10, soon to be Windows 11.

There is still no "Sony" Vegas 17. See here.

@guy-b From where did you obtain your "original" CD?

@EricLNZ see my link above. He "bought a Sony Vegas 17 on Ebay".
