VEGAS Pro 19 (Build 643) Crashes Mid-Render (0xe0434352)

TheEffectsFan1013-AMHD wrote on 9/29/2025, 3:27 PM

When rendering videos longer than two minutes, I keep crashing in VEGAS Pro 19. Between roughly 7% and 15%, the software regularly crashes during the rendering phase, generating an error known as "Unmanaged Exception" (0xe0434352). The fault always points to the same system file directory: C:\Windows\System32\KERNELBASE.dll.

Without success, I have carefully tried every answer I could find online to fix this problem. These efforts involve:

Using the control panel "Turn Windows features on or off," activating all versions of the .NET Framework.

Wiping all of VEGAS Pro 19's AppData files to reset user settings and transient data.

Employing the Ctrl+Shift shortcut to return to default settings resets the programme completely.

Device Manager's automatically updating of all available graphics drivers.

DDU can be used to physically refresh graphics drivers.

As certain communities proposed, renaming the file mc_cpu to mc_cpux in the FileIO Plug-ins/mxavcaacplug directory.

In the event that updates fixed this, installing the newest VEGAS Pro 19 versions

Other little system improvements and tests pertinent to CPU and GPU consumption.

I wish to stress that I am not willing to do a Windows install as that procedure resets several system data and can be disruptive.

Crash Logs:

I have noticed that the crash can be specifically triggered when applying certain effects during rendering, particularly the Starburst effect combined with AudioFX VST plug-ins. However, I also managed to render videos with the Starburst effect exceeding two hours in duration without incident, which means the error is reproducible but inconsistent.

Here are the crucial details about my system configuration and rendering setup:

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

The issue is that something is triggering the Windows KERNELBASE.dll. You mention VST's, but not the specifics of which one(s).

Others have posted issues with the KERNELBASE.dll in the forum, but I don't recall if there was resolution. Some have said they too are using 24H2, while others using the same Windows build have no issues.

No matter which VST I use, the program will crash while rendring for a long time.

"rendering a long time" means nothing. How long? Is the issue a heat issue in your computer? When was the last time you cleaned out the inside of your computer and reapplied thermal paste on your overworked CPU? Are you saving the render to a mechanical hard drive or a SSD, or even a NVME?

In average, I try to render it for more than an hour, problems emerge. Haven't replaced thermal paste already, for more than a year. I save my files to a OneDrive folder.

Next dumb question from me, are your drivers up to date? What CPU cooler are you using? If you monitor CPU temps, what are they?

1. According to Windows' device manager, my driver's are up-to-date.

2. I don't use a CPU cooler, because I'm notably on desktop.

3. I don't monitor CPU temperatures, I should do that sometime.

Reyfox wrote on 10/2/2025, 12:24 PM

Every CPU has to have a CPU cooler. Every single one. What is yours? Do you feel the bottom of it after it starts working? As for M$ saying the drivers are up to date, I never trust those data mining people. Check with AMD to see if they are up to date.

Back to cooling... having good airflow through your case to get rid of heat is important. The same with adding a good CPU cooler. The stock one is ok for general purposes, but for long term, high CPU/iGPU usage, it might not be.

Checked investigation, my PC has one. I have proper airflow to let the dissipation out.

As I wrote, the stock cooler is ok for general purpose computing. But render for and hour, it is really not. I don't know what type of thermal paste (brand) that you use, but I would reapply it, clean the dust from the computer, and then try and render with the side panel off the computer.

If the problem still persists, my one brain cell will have to think about it a bit. And again, I would log into AMD's website and see if the latest driver is.

You should be able to right mouse click on an empty location on your desktop and see the little AMD logo. Right mouse click on it and it should open up AMD software where you can check to see if you actually have the latest driver installed. It should be 25.8.1

Speaking about thermal paste, I haven't replaced it. I don't know what brand it is, because I bought the computer approximately a year ago.

Reyfox wrote on 10/2/2025, 12:56 PM

If it has the stock cooler, it has the stock thermal paste. I don't know your computer build skills, but I would replace the thermal paste first. It is the cheapest solution. Do a google search on brand testing. Then I would make sure there is no dust/dirt on the fan blades or in the fins. I'd blow the dust out of the computer (including power supply). I do the "dust thing" every couple of months since my computer is on for most of the day.

Then run with the side panel off to see if that makes a difference. Airflow is important in getting cooler air in, and the hot air out. My computer case is specifically designed for high air flow. I have my CPU overclocked a little and will be editing and rendering for hours without a care about heat.

My device is still under warranty, therefore I would usually not disassemble it myself. to avoid any warranty voiding risk. Commonly excluded from warranty coverage is unauthorized disassembly or modification since manufacturers mandate authorized service technicians to perform repairs or checks to uphold the warranty validity. I therefore require a straightforward and honest explanation to go on with any repairs or troubleshooting that guarantees my warranty rights are protected and the device under its terms of coverage is properly managed.

Reyfox wrote on 10/2/2025, 1:34 PM

I can't and won't comment on your warranty. I've never bought a prebuilt computer. I've been building them since the mid 1990's for businesses (in addition to building the networking) and individuals. So I do all the work myself.

But you can take a can of compressed air and blow the dust out of it and the CPU cooler. Then run your rendering with the side panel off to see if that helps.

Stock thermal paste does dry out. And not knowing when the computer was built (not sold), I have no comment on the thermal paste except that I've had the stock cooler on the Ryzen 9 3900X 12 core 24 thread CPU for about a year. Took it off, tossed on an aftermarket cooler with Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut and CPU temps are really low.

Also, look at the Windows Reliability History Report

Make sure that your power profile doesn't allow your PC to hibernate.

Because I thought that Build 643 was the latest version, though.

Go to your Magix account and download the last VP19 build. You don't have to do anything. It will download it automatically. You should have been notified within VP19 that it was not the last build.

Then install it. You do not have to delete your current build downloaded file.

Where does "someone's Linktr.ee" fit in? As others have said why aren't you going to your Magix account?

My French isn't good but it appears the crash report wants to be reported to "Sony" who haven't been involved with Vegas since VP14?
