Vegas Pro RIP

DM7 wrote on 5/15/2022, 10:33 PM

Hey all!

I think I've lost my Vegas Pro purchase, When I brought the software I was sent a email of the product registration which over the years I've now lost/deleted. I can't remember what email the software is linked to and another thing is I tried to click on the "My products" but it doesn't show up for some reason.

Weird enough I checked my paypal and it shows no record however I do have this email which SHOULD be recognized as a registered account...(it's not)

Is there any way I could somehow get my software back? Maybe you lot know about other methods like maybe I haven't checked a certain place?

Only reason why I uninstalled my Vegas was for a fresh install of windows.

1. Yes I did register with this email and I did register the products on this account, I moved it to a new email as I was hacked. I got this account back, and fresh installed windows while deleting emails (which deleted my key)

2. I have one old key from when i upgraded from VP14 (I don't know if this helps to connect me to my account)

3. I've checked Paypal for records of purchase no luck here. I tried the "forgot password" on my emails and nothing is sending to my accounts (I'm assuming an account is not connected with the emails if it hasn't sent).

4. "My products" is where you find the products you have registered, this option doesn't show up for me, That means I have moved it to another email...but how do I find this email?. I have every login written down however none of them have an account with magix? Maybe when I moved the products to a new email...there was no account associated with Magix?

Magix support may be able to help you if you provide them that serial number from VEGAS 14, perhaps they can track down which email address that purchase was linked to, and can track down your account info from there.

Thanks @fr0sty will make a support ticket right now, Yeah that's the only link I have to the account apart from the emails I have is the one VP14 key that I had from waaaaay back.

They can probably also look up email addresses tied to your name, address, etc... and change passwords for you to grant you access to your account.

This is exactly what I wanted as I have the support tickets from when they helped me as I changed my account through the support portal, so I'll also link those over :)

@DM7

The link above should have been https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/support/ which leads you to the same option when you click "FAQ and Support".

@vkmast I emailed sales@magix.net and the support ticket was made, although it is "sales" is this the right department? I don't want to create too many tickets on my end. Should I go ahead and wait for sales team or should I create a ticket through the method you linked :

Click on Support at the top of the forum

Click on Ask Support

Select a category like Technical Problems

Select the program - Vegas Pro

Look at whatever is proposed. If nothing for you -

Click on Search for other Solutions

Type in your problem in the box - this will be the subject of your ticket so put something useful here.

Click on Find a solution

Look at whatever is proposed. If nothing for you -

Click on SEND A SUPPORT REQUEST

This is the screen for your ticket - note that the Subject was already entered. If you did not put in something useful as I indicated above, then do so. Then, Describe your problem and add an attachment if you have one.

Click on Continue

@DM7 you might wait first for a response from the Sales team. You'll probably get something in 1-2 working days.

@vkmast not even 3hrs into this, 1 email to the sales team and I already have all my products back, sales team gave me my account aswell as password changes etc. I gave all the proof of ownership and sure enough they knew it was your boy. MAGIX FOR LIFE! <3 Thanks @vkmast
