Very weird if the media works in VP14.

I'm wondering if its codec that VP14 has but VP16 does not have?

Can you find a video media that DOES work in VP16 or is it just EVERY type of video media?

Can you post for download a small clip of the media that is NOT working in VP16?

Can you post the MediaInfo on the type of media that is not working?

Thanks for the reply.

I have explored multiple types of files. From my cellphone's video, to 360 video, GoPro files, to 4K files from my Sony AX53. Nothing plays in the preview window and the trimmer. Except the accompanying audio.

I'm wondering if there is some "switch" in 16 that I mistakenly hit. A universal video mute button?

Thanks. Not familiar with that setting window. But if I select "Clipboard" it mutes all files except audio.

Options menu > Mute All Video has been around for long. Should mute photos though as well...

BillM wrote on 4/24/2019, 1:28 PM

Options menu > Mute All Video?

Thanks. That one I was familiar with and it was and is unchecked.

Tried resetting?

Tried resetting?

I did turn " Mute All Video" on, then off. No change. As a test, "Mute all Audio" works as intended. Thanks.

Did you try resetting the software to default settings as per the link?

Marco. wrote on 4/24/2019, 1:50 PM

If photos and titles work fine but video clips don't, it looks like something happened to the video decoders. Maybe the registration was set back and failed to re-register. Is your system online when you use VP16?

Are you sure Vegas Pro 16 is allowed to access your network? Windows may block it automatically.

I'll see if I can check that. Thanks.

Can you render some of the video media that will not display? Does it render ok?

The issue remains the same no matter what the "GPU Acceleration of Video Processing" is set at. Two video cards, plus "off".

Thanks,

What do you mean "plus off"?

Are you using the same video card you are using in VP14?

There is an "off" choice in the settings. Yes same video cards for both versions.

Could you please confirm that you were able to clear the cache when you reset. (I only ask this because I once again just came across on another forum that it probably "did not happen".)
