Video preview not working properly

Hi Vegas community!

Recently I had a problem with the video preview in Vegas 18.

1st. The grid is not showing. even after I toggle on/off the icon on the top area.

2nd. When I try to use any effect (let's say picture-in-picture) there is no option for me to adjust it directly in video preview window (scaling/moving), also when I try to change the value (scale in X or Y), video preview window not directly showing the results. But right after I close the FX window the changes I made applied directly. Only after I close window FX.

Here's a short video clip regarding 2 issues above:

I think those 2 problems have a correlation. I don't know what's wrong..

Please help..

Thank you in advance.

The most likely cause is that you have the FX Bypass button activated. It's the split screen icon just to the left of the 'Good (Auto)' setting in the toolbar just above the preview window. Try clicking on the split screen icon and that should allow all FX to appear in the preview window. If you click on the little arrow just to the right of the split screen icon, you'll find options including split screen where one half of the image has any FX applied but the other half is the original image without FX.

Hi Dexcon.. Thank you for your time in replying to this thread.

However, I try your suggestion to check again the FX icon and available options there, but the problems are still there..

@freshter please read also this FAQ section 2. It may be a bit outdated but worth checking anyway.

Hi vkmast, I think it's because of the conflict with Nvidia latest update as stated in point 2.

It has been fixed. I try to 'play' with the setting such as total memory for preview, maximum threads, and GPU acceleration for video processing. I try to change the acceleration to Intel and it's solved!

I think I need to rollback to the previous version of nvidia driver because Intel video processor is less powerful (I think).

Thank you!
