Video Window

I have Movie Studio 8.0 and if I Right click in the Project Preview Screen I see Scale To Fit Preview Window.

And if I put a Chack in it the Preview Screen gets bigger.

But what is going on the Preview Screen size still says 360x240 even after I made it Bigger by Right Clicking in the Screen and picking Scale To Fit Preview Screen.

So what is going on?

320x240 is the resolution of your playback, automatically downscaled by the program so that it can play on your hardware.

It is preview resolution only and has nothing to do with the actual resolution of your video or your final output.

If those are the dimensions on the bottom left of your preview window in black font. they refer to the size of your video or project. The dimensions for your resized preview window are at the right beside the word 'Display' in red font.

Resize your preview window and you will see the 'Preview' dimensions remain constant, but the 'Display' dimensions change accordingly.

HTH

BTW What is a 'chack'?

From MSP 10 Help, probably similar in v 8.
---
"Choose Scale to Fit Preview Window, if you want the preview to fill the Video Preview window.
---
Right-click the Video Preview window and select (Preview Device) Preferences > Video > Display at Project Size if you want to preview only using the project settings.
If you want to emphasize frame rate during preview, right-click the Video Preview window and select Adjust Size and Quality for Optimal Playback. When the command is not selected, video quality is emphasized, and the frame rate will be reduced if necessary."
---
As for "chack", I'd venture to guess that the OP "chose" Scale to Fit... i.e. put a "chack" there ;)

I ment to say Check.

And I have my Project Display set to 720x480 and it says it.
Under it for Preview it says 360x240.

Because when I had the window Un Docked I Re Sized it to 360x240 then Re Docked it.

So I get how this all works.
But when I right Click in the Preview Screen and pick Scale To Fit Preview Screen what di it do?

"Scale Video to Fit Preview Window" allows the video to scale, regardless of the size of the Preview window.
