It does not overwrite your previous version(s) and you do not have to uninstall. It is a separate install. Just follow the advice you'll get on the screen. For your first install of a version, it is recommended to use the "download manager" (**_dlm.exe). See here, at least section 2 and advice regarding download managers and direct links in section 5.

The free new builds/updates of a version that you have purchased overwrite the previous build.

<download manager> There has been the possibility of loading the patches direct. Now I see only the hint for using the auto update feature. But my second and for video main computer is offline.

MS Platinum 16 Update 1 (build 109) is actually the initial release of the software, so there is nothing to auto update at the moment. You can download the *_dlm.exe from the Magix Download Center (see here point 4). I just did and installed without issue using the on-screen advice onto my other machine. You may need to be patient in the process though.

After using the dowloadmanager on my laptop I found the installation file for use without beeing online on my desktop.
