VP-19 Pro (Build 538) -- No Hub Option or Login

Soniclight-2.0 wrote on 3/18/2022, 3:18 PM

From what I understand, the Post subscription version has unlimited Hub stock and such, but I do not have Pro subscription version, just an upgrade from older version of Vegas Pro. So maybe the Hub is only available to subscription? But I figured I might as well ask anyway.

I've never used the Hub but figured I'd try it since I just updated to Build 538. As screenshot shows, there is no Hub icon at top as I've seen in YouTube walkthrough of how to login and use it.

I had updated from VP10 to VP19 last last year and perhaps at the time of that rather major upgrade, I somehow didn't install or activate that feature.

Any suggestions?

... there is no Hub icon at top ...

To get the Hub login and logout icons, go to Options and click on Customise Toolbar in the context menu that opens - the Toolabr window will then open. In the LH panel scroll down until you find the Hub icons and use the Add button to add those icons to RH panel, this being the icons that appear in Vegas Pro. You can choose where to place them by using the Move Up / Move Down buttons, and you can if you want space any of the icons by adding in the separator button from the LH panel.

@Dexcon - Thanks. I did as you suggested and while I got it to work, the purpose for which I wanted to do this (get Content Downloads) is moot. It is only available in subscription mode as far as I can tell.

The only Hub choices I see are: Upgrade (I don't need Post), Expansion Packs, Example Project, What's new, How-to Videos, Community and My Profile. Even if I wanted to go to subscription so as to get Content, I don't know if or how it would be done.

Correct. Content is only available by the subscription model - which I don't have. I can only guess that if you had the subscription model there'd be other links in the Hub to the subscription only content.

Try asking by emailing infoservice@magix.net

(And from here: "to be clear, the VEGAS Hub and Hub Explorer windows are available to all users, as you have discovered. Certain functions/features within those windows are not available to perpetual users. For example, perpetual users will not be able to download the VEGAS Content from the VEGAS Hub window and cloud-based functionality in the Hub Explorer window will not be available with the perpetual lisence.")

@vkmast - Thanks. So since I am a perpetual user, then no access to any Content or... is this only applicable when wishing to park content in "the cloud-based functionality"? I'm still not clear on that. But as for now, there is no Content in my Hub, so maybe I do need to contact them.

BTW this is the YT video I saw and he mentions that it's only subscribers that can access Content. I just wanted to get a more official user input on this.

Yes, due to licensing payments that VEGAS Creative Software has to make for downloads and server space, we can only offer the VEGAS Hub features to subscription users at this time.

@gary-rebholz - Thanks for confirmation on this. Case closed.

Yeah, these are services that are constantly updated with new content, not just something a one-time fee can cover (though who knows, maybe eventually it could be priced into an annual fee, or a certain number of years included in a certain bundle, etc).

That said, the amount of content and services you get for that already very affordable subscription price is really, really good.

@fr0sty - For now, I'm just sticking to Storyblocks on a monthly basis. I have unlimited downloads for USD$65/month so I can expand my collection of stock a lot in and for just one month...

fr0sty wrote on 3/21/2022, 4:15 PM

Storyblocks is who provides much of the content in VEGAS Pro/Post 365. In addition to storyblocks, you get the text to speech, speech to text, and cloud storage for uploading cell phone videos directly into VEGAS. Those features will expand into the future as well... Hopefully to soon opening that cloud storage up to any file from any device, enabling things like cooperative editing sessions over a network, etc (like, one person edits while another goes behind to the already edited scenes and colors them). Disclaimer: None of those ideas are anything officially announced, just mentioning possibilities for the things VEGAS Hub can evolve into as its development continues.

Thanks for info 👍

Haven't really used video content from HUB, other than just a couple nice overlays. But audio has been very useful. Wow - what a treasure with endless choices!

However, the vast amount of choices comes with a challenge to find what is right for you, so the search in the HUB could be better.

When browsing around in Storyblocks website, the search feel somehow easier there (although the search options are about the same as in HUB?). So, maybe i should do searches on the website instead. It just seems a bit difficult to locate the same file afterwards in HUB - any tips?

Very good point - would interest me too. You spend soooo much time searching.
