VTS_01_0.IFO file and click on Open - the program shut down

Vegas Pro 17.0. I try to use the 'Gary James method' (below). When I do "VTS_01_0.IFO file and click on Open" the program shut down. How can I fix it?

The 'Gary James method': Vegas allows you to open up a DVD .IFO file. This imports the entire .VOB chain for both video and audio tracks. First: Import the entire DVD onto your hard drive. Click File / Open, then navigate to your VIDEO_TS sub directory and enter *.IFO in the File name input field. For a regular DVD you will see a VIDEO_TS.IFO, and a VTS_01_0.IFO. Select the VTS_01_0.IFO file and click on Open.

@SomeAMan What you need to do, and I've just done it successfully in VEGAS Pro 17, is to select the Explorer tab, navigate to the VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive, find the file 'VTS_01_0.IFO' and drag it onto your timeline.

This worked before but doesn't work now. During file drag-and-drop, the operation is prohibited sign appears.

@SomeAMan
Can you try starting Vegas as an administrator? (Right click on the symbol and "Run as administrator", and then execute @Jack S suggestion?

Have you tried dragging the VTS_01_1.VOB and later if any? Worked for me in VEGAS Pro 17 b 452. The 0.IFO gives serious hiccups here.

In VEGAS Pro 18 b 434 dragging the 0.IF0 loses the audio, probably due to this. Dragging the VTS_01_1.VOB the (whole) video and audio show, but I need to change the Pixel aspect ratio in File Properties.

Tested this a few times with an unencrypted home-made DVD imported to the laptop first.
