What the hell have you done to trimmer?

I have been a user since 2.0. I don't use the product a lot, but the simple stuff I can do. Now all of a sudden trimmer does NOT work the way it used to and I am PISSED! You can go ahead and add a bunch of new whiz bang stuff for high end users but why mess with what has worked for years! Having to go to a forum instead of just getting specific answers without all the damn typing sucks as well. Why do people have to be proficient typists to get help? Why do users have to do searches all over the net for tutorials that are not necessarily up to date? Why is there no tutorial archive easily accessible on Magix? I sure wish Sony still owned the program as they KNEW what support meant! I am using Vegas Pro 19 build 550

 

TO ALL USERS ON THIS FORUM: MY RANT IS DIRECTED TO MAGIX. SORRY THAT USERS GOT WORKED UP. SONY WAS EASY TO GET SUPPORT AND MAGIX NOT. MY PROBLEM IS YOU USED TO BE ABLE TO PUT A CLIP IN TRIMMER FROM EXPLORER (STILL CAN) THEN MAKE AN EDIT AND INSERT IT ONLY TO TIMELINE EASILY. NOW WHEN YOU SELECT THE EDITED PORTION, TRIMMER THROWS EVERYTHING FROM THE EDIT AND AFTER INTO TIMELINE. THIS DID NOT USED TO BE THE CASE. I AM A BELIEVER IN, IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT. IT IS ONE THING TO ADD NEW FEATURES TO A PROGRAM ENGROSS THAT ADDS ADDITIONAL CAPABILITIES. MUCKING UP WHAT WORKS AND PROVIDING NO EASY WAY TO LEARN THE CHANGES STINKS!!!

@David-Loring, now that the rant is out of your system, what is the trimmer doing/not doing that you think it should/should not be doing? Details explaining your situation would greatly help.

Ah yes. I don't know why Magix/Vegas hides tutorials in plain sight.

@David-Loring Please elaborate on your confusion. For the most part, we have left the trimmer alone for several years. The last major change to it was adding of the hover scrub, which was actually done while the software belonged to the previous owner of the product.

I’ve used Vegas Pro since version 4 and I’ve opened the Trimmer a couple of times, mostly to see what all the fuss was about. As long as the program can have multiple instances running at once with copy/patse between instances, and since it supports nesting, I manage to get by without opening the Trimmer.

That said, if you need some detailed help, please describe you needs.
