When attempting to add media program shuts down

I've used movie studio for ten years and needed to put on my lap top. As of today ONE DAY I've paid for it 2 times and it was difficult to download. But with each new download, when I attempt to add media the program instantly shuts down. Never before have I had this issue.

I dominate you tube in my Industry. 160 videos on my channel and all edited with a Vegas. I am so well known across the U.S. that people call from many states and pay me $350 to do a video call. Recently I have been falling in authority because I have not interacted on You Tube for over a year. So I have 3 videos to make. I finished 2 and now this issue has stopped me from finishing.

After all the frustration I tried the free trial and it worked perfectly. So why does the "free trial" version work but the one I buy does not? I've seen other people have the same problem and there are no answers to this issue.

I am quite sure the issue is within the download. Never before have I had such a difficult time with downloading anything. I'm stubborn and kept uninstalling and installing several times and nothing.

AND WHAT IS REALLY ANOYING IS I HAD TO CANCEL MY ALREADY REGISTERD E MAIL AND OPEN A NEW ACCOUNT WITH MY NEW ONE. AND WHEN I TRY TO SIGN IN IT KEEPS USING MY OLD E MAIL WHICH I NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TO.

You know I did that because the automated will not use my new e mail. And getting any kind of support seems impossible. I tried free trial and that doesn't work either. I can't be the only person this is happening to. It is difficult enough to b motivated in editing one of my videos whilst spring is here and sun is shinning.. I've the last of 3 videos to do and it's third day now trying to solve problem. Learning a new program will take more time but looks like I'll have to. .

VEGAS support people may monitor this user forum only occasionally. So it does not help if you post your email addresses here. Please remove it for data protection. Note that you were advised about this in the New Post template: "Please be mindful of data protection. Do not publish any personal information. If the VEGAS Support process starting from "Support New" above seems too complicated, you should try Online Live Chat (on weekdays), advice here in section 6.

As for the spring, in my part of the world we thought it was coming early this week. Instead we're now again getting rather cold weather and some snow even.

I have been a long time user of Vegas (Verson 11) Several years ago I upgraded to version 17. Never could get it to install (at least 10 hours working on it.) Finally gave up in frustration when I could never get through to Vegas support people. Couldn't even figure out a way to get my money back. I am my wife's full time caregiver and didn't have the time to pursue thing further as well as the sanity.

I recently decided to try again. Gets to a certain stage in the installation process and it freezes and refuses to go further. Have turned off Windows Defender and still no luck.

I decided to give up and order Magix 24. Same problem. I have no issues installing other programs, just those by Magix. Have tried to call all of their support numbers - U.S., Canadian and Netherlands to no avail.

Does this company even still exist or is the whole thing one horrendously insidious scam?

Lest you think I give up easy, I once again have spent over 10 hours trying to get either program to install.

Would it be too much to ask to hope that someone in this company (apparent worldwide conglomerate, for some actual help. I can't even find where I can get my money back.

I would gladly give screen shots showing my purchase of both programs. I will be happy to furnish my home phone number for anyone willing and qualified to help me.

I need one or both to do some work for my church and am really frustrated!

The above mentioned using online chat- but in order for that to work you have o have the program installed which it refuses to do on my Windows 11 very powerful computers. (Have tried to install on both.)

@Dan-Appel  If you think you've upgraded to Magix Movie Studio 2024 from Vegas Movie Studio that is incorrect, Magix Movie Studio is not an upgrade, they are totally different programs.

This post mentions Movie Studio 18, I don't remember that one, my Magix Movie Edit Pro Became Magix Movie Studio 21 or 22 I can't remember but the link is relating to the same thing, There's a link within the link to the Magix forum, https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/read-first-movie-studio-18-vs-vegas-movie-studio--130402/

If you think you've bought incorrectly & recently I do believe it's possible to get a refund, the closest correct upgrade from Vegas Movie studio is Vegas Pro Edit, A trial version can be installed from the Magix website.
