I recently purchased Movie Studio 15 as an upgrade from Vegas 14. However, no matter what video I watch, my version doesn't match the one in the videos; the versions in most of the videos have a lot more options and buttons than my version, and I wonder if something went wrong somewhere, as I also cannot find any means of adding them.

The exact name is Vegas Pro 14, and after I wrote this post I've been delving a bit deeper and I'm afraid I shot myself in the foot with the purchase. I'm not a fan of Vegas' ambiguous naming of their video editing products :/ One time it's Sony Vegas Pro, then it's just Vegas [number], then Vegas Movie Studio, it's confusing and lead me to buy the wrong thing... Gotta read it up extremely carefully next time I guess
Movie Studio is a scaled down version of Vegas Pro. Sony is now Magix so anything after 14 is Magix Vega. Movie Studio has always been called that. If you bought recently you might contact Magix to see if you can get a credit or refund. The current version of Vegas Pro is 17.
