I'm trying to use auto-editor to remove silence in an audio file, but I cannot figure out how to import the altered XML file. Does anyone know how to do this? I can't find anything on google or forums. Auto-editor: https://github.com/WyattBlue/auto-editor
Welcome to the Vegas forum where issues about Vegas Pro and related products can be discussed. But as Auto-Editor is not a Vegas/MAGIX product, you will need to post your question elsewhere (maybe Reddit) or contact Auto-Editor's company directly.
Hi Dexcon, it's not an issue with auto-editor, it's working as intended. The problem is I don't know how to use XML files in vegas and I cannot find the right information anywhere.
An XML file is an XML (Extensible Markup Language) data file. It contains a formatted dataset that is intended to be processed by a website, web application, or software program. XML files can be thought of as text-based databases.
Other: Premiere/After Effects (*.prproj), Final Cut Pro 7/ DaVinci Resolve (*.xml), Final Cut Pro X (*.fcpxml), EDL Text File (*.txt), Broadcast Wave Format, Closed Captioning (SRT)

It says here that it supports .xml imports but it refuses to recognise the .xml I'm trying to import.
Yes, you are right - but is your XML coming from either Final Cut Pro 7 or DaVinci Resolve as specified in Vegas Pro's import specifications? The specifications do not mention all sources of XML as being able to be imported - only XML from FCP7 and DR.

Now we are getting somewhere. Your original post did not mention Vegas Pro but only mentioned something called Audio Editor as the source. Now the source has inexplicably changed to FCP - but which version because you didn't specifiy the FCP version?
I suggest that you lodge a support request with Vegas/MAGIX via the Support link in https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/support/vegas-pro--1/ (scroll down to the bottom of the page for the Contact Support link) in order to get a fully informed answer.

Thank you, I couldn't find a support request system on the service centre that's why I came here!
