I'm trying to use auto-editor to remove silence in an audio file, but I cannot figure out how to import the altered XML file.
Does anyone know how to do this? I can't find anything on google or forums.

Hi Dexcon, it's not an issue with auto-editor, it's working as intended. The problem is I don't know how to use XML files in vegas and I cannot find the right information anywhere.
XML is not a media codec, rather it is:

It says here that it supports .xml imports but it refuses to recognise the .xml I'm trying to import.
Yes, you are right - but is your XML coming from either Final Cut Pro 7 or DaVinci Resolve as specified in Vegas Pro's import specifications? The specifications do not mention all sources of XML as being able to be imported - only XML from FCP7 and DR.

It's using the FCP xml file type.
Now we are getting somewhere. Your original post did not mention Vegas Pro but only mentioned something called Audio Editor as the source. Now the source has inexplicably changed to FCP - but which version because you didn't specifiy the FCP version?

I use AATranslate to import an audio timeline from third-party applications, be it FCP, Premere, DaVinci, ect

Actually that VEGAS website link takes you to MAGIX (products) Support. You'll find VEGAS (products) Support through here:

Click "VEGAS PRO" and then scroll down to the bottom of the opening page to "Contact support". Proceed as advised there.
The procedure itself is similar to the one described in the linked MAGIX support document.
If the OP wants to PM me I'd be happy to convert his FCP xml to a Vegas xml and give him instructions on how to import that xml into Vegas
You could always write a script designed to import the specific XML format used by the other program. Here's a three part series showing an example.
