Hi Graham,

There is no update of value as yet.  The next upgrade is scheduled for February, 2017.  Magix Software has taken ownership and is currently in transition of Sony rolling over to Magix.  The next upgrade of Vegas Pro is scheduled for later this month.

Best Regards.....George

When i say a Update i mean a build number to address any issues, the issue i have is magix did not make this software and i hate Magix Movie editor as its for kids

Graham, Eagle Six answered your question correctly. The lastest version of MOVIE STUDIO 13 PLATINUM is BUILD 955 for 64-bit computers and BUILD 954 for 32-bit models. I don't know where the confusion is. I don't think your "issues" could be fixed but a newer build anyhow.

graham-hale wrote on 9/11/2016, 5:04 PM

The fix i wanted was the Facebook and youtube one so i can post direct from the program, Sont said before they sold up that it was in the Log for the next update

Eagle Six wrote on 9/11/2016, 6:01 PM

OK Graham, Magix just announced the latest Magix Vegas Movie Studio 13 Platinum (and Suite) deal to upgrade to Movie Studio 13P now through September 29th for $59.95 USD ($89.95 USD for the Suite package) which will include a free version 14 when released in February, 2017.  The latest Movie Studio 13P release by Magix is build 960.  You of course don't need to buy this deal as you already have version 13, but if you want the latest build 960, download the trial version of Magix Vegas Movie Studio 13 Platinum, install it (it will recognize a previous version and complete the update installation).  Then later, probably in February, Magix will announce the upgrade to Magix Vegas Movie Studio 14 Platinum, from current owners of Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum.

As for the Facebook and YouTube upload, they already had YouTube and it didn't work well because YouTube is constantly changing there upload path/process and Sony elected to not jump through hoops every month.  And, are you sure they said they would fix it in the next update or next upgrade?  Nonetheless one of the features pre-announced by Magix for version 14 is uploads to Vimeo and much more.  Maybe that will include a fix for the YouTube upload, maybe even include Facebook.

And, although the upload feature to YouTube (when working was convenient) it didn't provide for getting the best quality for the lack of customizing the render specifications.  Most all the pro's I know never used this upload feature, rather render out there higher quality video and then manually uploaded to their channel.  Of course, if it is a feature you like, I understand you want it to work.

The bottom line on this, I think, is it will never happen in an update, you will need to wait for the upgrade, but you can download and install the update (build 960), test it, and let us know how it works.  Maybe it is fixed in build 960.

Best Regards......George

Proceed with caution!  There are threads here which warn about build 960 not recognizing some extensions such as VASST.  I have a spare box that I install these updates on, whch does not interrupt my working copy.  If you do not have that luxury, and the trial version does not give you an option out of updating your previous version, you may want to wait a while.  From my understanding and testing the latest build 960 doesn't provide any imporvement in features or functions.  That's why I previously posted 'There is no update of value as yet'.

If you wait a while I will try the YouTube feature in build 960.

Some users report having received an email offer like this from MAGIX. It is a mystery to me how they pick the recipients. E.g. some who already have the current version receive these offers, even though it was reported earlier that they will only get a separate offer for the upgrade version. Many users (incl. myself) do not currently receive any Vegas-related offers.

Hi vk,

As we have discussed many times since the original emails I received, as well as some others did......and you did not receive, as well as some others didn't.....and considering the hickcups Magix has had rolling these updates and changes out......I'm starting to wonder if you are not the lucky one!  As maybe those not in the know, will not jump into the changes and improvement promises as quick as those of us receiving the news!!  It may be a blessing!!  😂

Thanks didn't get the email but i do own Movie Studio Platnium.  Wonder what the upgrade price will be after 14 is released.

Eagle Six wrote on 9/13/2016, 10:32 AM

Back in June they announced a similar deal for Vegas pro 13 + free 14 by the end of July.  Towards the end of July they extended that deal to the end of August.  The release date for Vegas Pro 14 is September.  Some say by September 16th, others say by the end of September.  Either way, what they do with Vegas Pro 14 (within the next few days or couple weeks) should be an indicator of how they will handle Movie Studio 14 in February.

On the other hand, if how they handle the release of Vegas Pro 14 doesn't fly so well, they have plenty of time to change the deal for Movie Studio 14 in February.  So, it's still a secret held by the marketers and in my opinion, that simply means, none of us will know until they make the announcement!!!

FYI, the issue reported in this thread earlier about the VASST apps not working should now be resolved with the new update, build 967.  Like the previous update (build 960), this is strictly a rebranding update.

Still no Vegas email offers, but today my MSP 10 and 11 opened with a "Sony Net Notify" (from Magix) pop-up window, which had links to the MSP 13+14 upgrade offer Eagle Six mentions above. Interestingly, MSP 12 did not show this offer. Neither did MSP 13, which is logical I suppose. "Use Net Notify" is checked in General Prefs. of all.

As someone mentioned earlier here, I'm one of those who received an email to upgrade to version 13 now and receive version 14 for free, but I already own version 13P (build 955).  I'm wondering now if the upgrade price when 14 is realeased will be better (or at least as good) as the price offered in this upgrade email?

In other words, would I be better off buying the upgrade to 13 now (even though I already own it) and getting 14 free, or just waiting till 14 is released?  And since I got this email, does Magix even know I currently own 13P?

Not sure what to do...

Eagle Six wrote on 9/15/2016, 5:55 PM

In August Magix had a similar deal for Vegas Pro 13 + free 14.  Magix stated there would be a deal for user who already had 13 at the time they released 14, which is within a few days or two weeks.  This may imply they anticipate the same with Movie Studio 13 + free 14, that in February when 14 is released there will be a deal for those who already have 13.  Perhaps Magix will post to this thread for clarification.

My "offer" didn't come as an email.  Instead when I opened MS Platinum 12 yesterday a window appeared like a splash screen titled "Sony Net Notify".  This contained the offer with links.

I'm confused over the Suite situation. If I update to MS13 Platinum presumably I'll still be able to use DVDArchitect Studio and Soundforge as they are separate programmes. But what about NewBlue and Magic Bullet?  Will my MS12 versions work with MS13? or do I need to purchase the Suite again?

Eagle Six wrote on 9/15/2016, 6:59 PM

Hi Eric,

You could download the trial version of Magic Vegas Movie Studio 13 Platinum and try it.  If you have the NewBlue and Bullet add-on's as an installable file perhaps they will install in the version 13.  Not sure, may be worth a try.  Perhaps EricD will reply to this thread and answer all the questions.
