Problem with Level/FX parameter control / UHD monitor problem

Peter_P wrote on 12/31/2016, 5:53 AM

Hi,

since I have updated my Vegas pro 14 to B201 I only have control with the slider over the first parameter (Input Start) of the Levels FX :

I can not change any other parameter any more. On other FXes the problem is similar. Is this problem fixed with B211 or is there ano other solution exept numerical setting?

Thanks
Peter

I found the reason. It is not caused by the B201 update but by my setting to allow  Vp14 to have a 1:1 pixel mapping in the preview window to get a 1920x1080 window on my UHD-monitor. To get this I had changed the high DPI setting in the Vp14.exe properties.

But this now in turn destroys the parameter windows of Vp14. So this will probably be the same with B211.

Thanks
Peter

Any help from here?

No, not really.

The problem is mainly caused by the way Vp14 handles UHD-monitors with high DPI resolution. On these monitors the preview window is no longer 1:1 pixel mapped by default, as it is on FHD-monitors. This causes that you can not set the preview window to ½ UHD resolution with 1920x1080 pixel. Using this even factor normally improved preview speed and quality.

To overcome this problem, I changed the Vp14.exe properties, as shown above. But this causes the parameter entry problem for the FX-windows.

Vegas pro should handle high DPI monitors properly. This is the main reason of this problem.
