Great Cobaltmotari, to hear your mp3s are now okay.

I had a similar problem to previous poster. I had installed v14 (148) of suite with full set of add ons (more of a dog's breakfast than a suite IMHO). Appears that the various apps have some internal conflicts. upshot is that once you go through the install process faithfully and try and load mp3 media, you won't be able to, even though the mp3 dll is in the program file directory. the simple fix is to then uninstall the main app vegas movie studio, and reinstall. you should now be able to import mp3 files into your project. Hope this helps others.

I got a new laptop and transferred movie studio platinum 13 to my new computer. I'm having the same problem where audio files won't show up. How do I fix this? Because I just transferred it over I didn't get an email that lets you download an audio editor or DVD editor. I mean maybe I did when I first got the program two years ago but that's long gone now.

audio files won't show up

Do you mean you get no audio on the timeline? Use MediaInfo to help identify the properties of your media and how it was encoded. (A FAQ)

an email that lets you download

Another FAQ, points 3. and 4.

When I try to add audio, mp3 files don't show up on the list.

Did you try the pulldown menu to find "MP3 Audio [*.mp3)"?

Choose a preset template from the right to see mp3.
