Sony Vegas Effects errors while opening: "An error occured during the current operation. The reason for the error could not be determined".

Are you referring to Effects in Sony Vegas versions 13 and earlier or in (MAGIX) VEGAS versions 14 and later?

Vegas 20 in Vegas Post 365

Tried opening Vegas Effects which errored;

'You must activate Vegas Post before you can use Vegas Effects. Please close this application, activate Vegas Post and try again.'

Tried Deactivating and uninstalling Vegas Pro, and Vegas Effcets and tried use again.

Then seeing from Community tried right clicking Vegas Effects from a media in Vegas Pro.

Error;

'An error occured during effects operation. The reason for the error could not be determined.

I really need to use Vegas for 360 productions.

You should provide us with a MediaInfo readout on the file(s) you are trying to edit with VEGAS Effects.
