Haven't used Vegas 17 (build 452) in months but now none of the video fx work. I uninstalled/reinstalled Vegas 17 but that didn't fix it. FX still work in Vegas 13. Any ideas on how to get the FX to work again in Vegas 17?
Just remembered I tried Vegas 18 a few months ago but didn't see a big increase in value for me so I uninstalled it. Could that have messed up the FX?
VP18 installation should not interfering VP17...
What do you mean by not working. You can't select and apply them?
Or you can't see any effect on the video? You didn't accidentally have the effects disabled (icon next to the preview window)?
yes, I can select, insert, change settings but don't see any changes on screen. It's like it's disconnected somehow.
And no, I didn't accidentally have the effects disabled (icon next to the preview window) but it's behaving as if there is a global disabling of the FX.
Hmm... I think I found the problem in the Split Screen View where it looks like you can have the FX disabled but mine seems to be disabled as the default which is not what I want, but I can't seem to set it to Keep FX on, the button doesn't seem to want to toggle on/off, or similar. Of course, the Vegas help file keeps crashing.
So does anybody know how to set the preview to FX on as the default? I would assume that's how it's supposed to be configured.
Success! Not sure what button I pushed or the sequence but now the FX are visible on the entire screen on not just the left or right. Now I need to figure out how to get the on-line help manual to open without crashing. It's always something with Vegas....
Post a screenshot of your Preview window.
OK, Now I see that when you click on the Split Screen View icon it turns blue and that disables the FX from showing, or shows the FX on just the left or right screen, etc. I guess that's new from VP13 that I used for years and can see that it can be handy.👍
Thanx for all the quick responses. I still have a few other issues with VP17 like screen capture never works nor is the new and improved VP17 stabilization anywhere as good as Mercalli, which I own (or maybe I'm not using it correctly)?
