since VPro 12 edit prices start (in Euro area) from € 214,95 ex VAT and Movie Studio to VPro 12 upgrades from € 370,95 ex VAT (the special e-mail promotional price is much lower), the link must refer to the 'collection' pricing.

haven't seen the Edit version upgrade option anywhere yet.

It was made known ages ago by Sony that Vegas 12 would be 64 bit only. :-)

I didn't get an email about the $139.95 upgrade, but after seeing Chienworks post I called Sony and they sold it to me for that price without question.

(I had downloaded the v12 Pro trial when it first came out and seemed to work fine with my projects, so hopefully I won't have many issues)

Just read the "new icon stinks" post, and not that it matters, but you can change any icon for any program by right-click, properties, and change icon.

And my 2¢ is the new icon looks fine.

On one hand, I'm excited about some of the new features in 12!

On the other hand, I'm rather baffled they would release 12 when the forums are littered with complaints about not being able to use 11 (myself included), due to crashes and constant issues. Although, I see there is a new 11 update out... seems a bit late considering the release of 12?!

I think we'll stick with 10 until the 3rd or 4th update to 12...

With the possible exception of Vegas v11, my standard procedure has always been to wait until the first update to a new version before I start using it for commercial purposes. The first update usually happens about a month after the initial release.

Seriously, John... why the attitude towards me. If you have read any of my posts I am very satisfied with Vegas & it works well on my system all versions.

As an artist the icon lacks imagination, creativity, & logic. It looks like an icon for a media player & not an editing software. That is my opinion & I have the right to it. Did you have something to do with the icon? Do you know who made it? Anyway I am satisfied with the program & I know how to change an icon. That was not the point. The icon looks like an icon for a media player that is the specific point. It does not look professional. If you had made it for my software I would have told you to do it again. Deal with it.

No, what we should have is a treatment by Particle Illusion to drape the Vegas Sign Screen with glitz and glamour - maybe some of those twinkly flashing pI lights?! We could have a compo to discover that perfect Sign-On screen! We could utilize the sound and hubbub of the Main Street in Vegas to emphasise it. Maybe Dean Martin and Frank are doing a deep echo compilation while the sign-on screen is bringing us towards Nirvana.

Great post. I'm feeling as though my Egyptian history is a bit lacking as I have absolutely no idea what (or who) a SunRah tritych is, but I sure will Google it shortly.

I also enjoy Champagne, so have another glass, it will help to further develop your stream of consciousness a la James Joyce, to keep us all entertained on this Melbourne evening.

I received an email from SCS with a promo code. The expiry on the $50 discount is October 31. I've heard that people can get the discount if they call customer service/sales and explain that they did not get the email.

My Account/My Software list VP12 as an upgrade available from $189.95. If I click "Buy" it then lists the download version as $139.95 marked as "Promotional Price".

I am still waiting for an email - not that I need it.
