I saw a tutorial video on the Vegas Pro Type Titler. The tutorial was on VP 16. I have VP 17 but do not see that title effect on my media generator tab. Was it removed for VP 17, or is there something else I need to do to add it? I do see all other options on my PC that the video shows, including Titles and Text, but not Pro Type Titler. ??

Maybe they want to just keep only one OFX titler to make Vegas looks standard and tidy， but they don't have ability to combine PTT's and ''Titles and Text'' 's powerful features to a new OFX titler plugin. So they have a idea to remove PTT (DirectX format).

Pro Type Titler is a 3rd party (New Blue) application. So, Vegas is not going to fix it. You can get updated versions from New Blue, or get the best out of what it is now, or leave it alone.

That is new for me. Maybe you can tell me also why it is not showing up as 3th party Media Generator, but as a default Media Generator of Vegas itself.

OK, I mixed up the titler and the pro....ahahah
Updating original post: I enabled Pro Type Titler and played with it and Titles & Text (the title generator Magix left enabled in Vegas Pro 17). Each has some (minor) features the other doesn't, but for more advanced titling, neither is a go-to FX.
NewBlue is presumably Magix' answer to this, though I found it to not be very intuitive (maybe just need more time). In my case, I also have BCC Title Studio which I'd likely use for more stylish titles.
I think for adding some basic (like adding a fade-in/fade-out comment to a sequence of video), Vegas' default Titles & Text is probably adequate, and surely the easiest.
