Frosty are you sure the GPU is too old? It seems to have 5GB of video ram and is a similar generation to the 10XX series: https://www.nvidia.com/content/dam/en-zz/Solutions/design-visualization/productspage/quadro/quadro-desktop/quadro-pascal-p2000-data-sheet-us-nvidia-704443-r2-web.pdf

Anyway, MediaInfo would be helpful! Not all media supports GPU decoding which can cause huge performance differences.

There is nothing to upload. Download MediaInfo or use a player that has it integrated (Media Player Classic) and copy and paste the info from your media file (i.e. the video) into this forum.

Too difficult? Make a short example available for us to download via Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, etc. and one of us can do it.

yes, or for checking to see if it is a format that vegas (or your GPU) has trouble with, it may need to be converted.

Thank you for the MediaInfo report.

The File Format is Quick Time (QT), a format that is no longer supported by Apple in Windows. Consequently, the QT plugin in Vegas Pro is not automatically activated, but it can be done by going to Options/Preferences/Deprecated Features and check the 'Enable the Quick Time plugin' checkbox and see if that improves things for you. Please let us know how it goes.

This file is just an example I imported in. I also import a sequence of png. program preforms same lagging way.

I enable that. it is the same.

It's not really QuickTime format, it's just AVC in a MOV container. Vegas says it decodes with so4compoundplug.dll so enabling Quicktime won't do anything.

Here's what I would try. Go to preferences, file i/o and check "enable legacy AVC decoding." Restart Vegas and see if it's any better. It's a workaround but may help.

If it does help there might be an issue with decoding on this card. You can also change hardware decoding from NVDEC to none (or Intel if available) on the file i/o tab.

I'd try Magix tech support. There have been a few complaints with Quadro cards and I don't know if they came up with a workaround or fix for them.

I'm using a regular NVIDIA 1050 (notebook) and it works fine with common file formats.

The other notebook is same 1050i card. it is fine too. I am using desktop workstation now.

edward-h wrote on 8/18/2021, 3:29 AM

I have contacted Microsoft. They will get back to me what they will do. I ask them to provide me an usable version.

I will try to refund it first.

How can I contact Magix technical people or sales?

For technical people scroll back up to the top and click on "support". Instead of ask the community go to ask support, click on technical issue, type something in and then create a support ticket.

symptoms: It is normal when nothing is imported. When a video is imported, if press play, it can't stop. It is very lagging. If two clips imported, they can't be dragged to do fade in and out transition.

I think you same as me
