@vkmast No disrespect intended at all. Just worth pointing out, in the past I have seen some users complain/regret that they have just purchased VP, close to release of a newer version.

VP 19 upgrade offer, based on past experience may come next month. Typically purchase VP19 and get VP18 for free.

I guess its simply a case of buyer beware. There will be users who will be quite happy to purchase VP18 at these discounted prices who aren’t interested in VP19.

One other thought. Perhaps Magix might make this an even better offer, given it’s so relatively late in the yearly purchase cycle.

Is the upgrade from Vegas pro 18 to 19 just valid on the magix website or can you purchase a Vegas Pro 18 from an outside dealer and still get the update to 19. I emailed Magix Edu discount department and haven’t heard back from them in 3 days.

You need to check from the software dealer that the VP 19 upgrade is included in their offer.

It looks like if you buy Vegas Pro 18 you would get 1 year of updates for free and that would mean upgrade to 19. Am I reading this wrong, it is right on the magix purchase website

@William-Bean that is currently not the case with VEGAS Pro. If you buy the perpetual license (not the 365 subscription), you'll get the free updates (new builds) until the new numbered version is released. But your VEGAS Pro 18 license does not expire. The "update service" you mention applies to MAGIX programs. More e.g. here.

Unless you can show us where you see this, there is no Update Service for Vegas Pro products. Scroll down on this page to see the products that have the Update Service.

Vegas is currently offering version 18 with a free upgrade to 19 (for the next 3 days) when it comes out later this month. That offer will expire either in 3 days or, obviously, as soon as 19 comes out.

The current offer from Vegas is abundantly clear ... buy VP18 and get VP19 on its release. And as per previous Vegas Pro versions over many years, you also get free updates during the life of the version purchased which, in this case, will apply to VP19 - it's been this way for many years with 'buy 16 and get 17', 'buy 17 and get 18'.

Yes, it is a perpetual licence assuming that you don't go for the 365 option which provides access only while the contract is in force.

When Vegas Pro 20 is released, there will likely be a similar offer - but if you already have a Vegas Pro version (any - but which hasn't already been used for an upgrade), there has historically been an attractive intro upgrade price to the next version.

My mistake, I did not realize Vegas Pro is not a Magix product and you wouldn't get the update to the latest version. For any Magix product you do.
