I tried to use Vegas capture but it just shows a plain gray rectangle. I looked up a video to see if it was normal and saw that for everyone else, it appeared for a sec only to be replaced by a screen with cameras and video but I cant get there. Any tips?
Its Vegas pro 18.0 if that helps. I tried to open it and close it again but it didn't work :(

Hmm, I don't think it has anything to do. Im trying to record my screen with the built in functionality but i think they are trying to plug a camera to their computer?
Some GPU/Driver combinations have had issues with screen record... you can always use OBS if we can't sort it out works, it's free.

I think we are talking about two different things here, possibly due to translation errors (on my part?) have arisen.
Since I have a German version of Vegas Pro this can easily be possible.
Here is my interpretation:
Video aufzeichnen = Screen Capture = Bring in video from tape.
Bildschirmaufnahme = Screen Recording = Record the screen content (like with OBS)
You talked about Vegas Capture in your first post, and now you're talking about screen recording.
From online Help: "Screen Capturing: To capture the video from any window on your computer, use the integrated VEGAS Capture program.".
