In previous Vegas versions, as soon as I would hookup my older camcorder using a dv converter using a firewire card it would pop up to select either DV or SVI format. Now I need to use Vegas Capture. I was using the "help" feature, but I couldn't find in properties what they are asking to find, which is the box that asks which to select.
I am on Vegas Edit 20, latest ver.. and Win10
DV capture was dropped in Vegas 20. Scenealyzer is said to be a viable option, maybe VirtualDub.

Just use one of your prior Vegas versions. Firewire capture should still work, as long as you have the Windows Legacy 1394 IEEE USB driver installed. It is a separate download.
Version 19 also has the DV capture option. I have not tested the functionality but the drop down is there.
Scenalyzer Live is great for capturing DV. And it's now free! When I captured DV, I used it instead of the VEGAS capture as it was much simpler to setup (which was important as we had multiple people needing to capture and didn't want to train everyone on how to use the Vegas capture).
Will Scenealyzer work off my Firewire card?
I did have it work using Ver 19 that I still had on my desk top. Kind of a hassle to go back & forth Between Ver19 to capture & save then go back yo Ver20 to produce it.

I've been using a set-top DVD recorder for the past several years, and I'm quite happy with the results.
I have such issues, with dv input, I can input HDV, I can see 50i tapes paying, if I set to 50i in the capture it controls the deck but no vision, stop start no vision in vegas, tried every capture program no results, HELP is most appreciated
