Long time Vegas Pro user. Suddenly imported video clips do not display in Pro 16. Photos, titles, audio files all play and display fine. I have uninstalled and re-installed 16. No difference. My older version, Pro 14 works fine.
Could you please confirm that you were able to clear the cache when you reset. (I only ask this because I once again just came across on another forum that it probably "did not happen".)
I followed the directions. When I re-started 16 my personal settings were gone. So I assume the cache was cleared.

Try this. Ceate a standard 8 bit HD project with Photos, Titles and audio in VP16. Render to MP4 or MFX or some standard format. Start a fresh project using the MP4 or MFX you just rendered as media. Same problem?

That was one of the first things that I tried. Also tried adding a clip rendered from the working version Pro 14. (I've been trying to troubleshoot this for a couple of weeks before turning to you folks for ideas.)
did you, at some stage, try to edit as proxies, ie switch files? what type of video files are these? (right click, investigate, see what playback codec is designated); and are the files still on your drive? maybe file type association with VLC broke something.
Also, try to copy the source files only into a new folder and create a new project..maybe; and reset you Vegas windows preset workspace..

Hi. Files are definitely on the local drive. Happens to multiple type files. I'll take a look at the codecs later. I do have VLC on my PC. So I'll take a look at that possibility as well.
