Hi all,

I may be missing something, but where is the upgrade from V13 to v14? All I can find is the 599$ buying offer.

I'll wait for the initial bugs to get fixed in later builds, before I consider upgrading even at an upgrade offer price.

You should wait for a mail from Magix, that contains the link to the update.

From the Magix Facebook page:

During the next three days you will receive a mail with your serial number and a download link to your new VEGAS Pro 14. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Thanks Mike. Eagerly waiting to see if the email actually arrives.

Remember to keep Net Notify enabled in Preferences too.

vkmast wrote on 9/20/2016, 9:13 AM

A good reminder. I've always had it on.

Sorry but I'm not finding this in Preferences in v13. I did download the trial of v14 but need product key as I'm sure many do. Thanks!

Try Options | Preferences... | Use Net Notify to stay informed about Sony Product updates (about the 6th option down).  However, if you are still using a pre-magix version it is likely phoning home to sony. Maybe magix has set up some re-direct.

lol. I saw you found it when my post refreshed the screen. Good luck.

I'm not holding my breath as I have used Vegas since about v5, with version upgrades along with Acid, Cinescore, media expansions, etc. and I have yet to receive 1 single offer or acknowledgement from Sony.

Really? I have. Sony was always quick to ask for money! Magix has our upgrade money so perhaps not as quick to notify. 😉 I've used Vegas since v2.

One would think... I upgraded to v13 before mgix entered the picture so sony likely has my money. I could be persona non grata at magix. Oh well...

MAGIX replied to a comment 12 hours ago on their video at

"Hey there! During the next days, you will receive the discount via e-mail in the form of a newsletter. You will also get an newsfeed information in your software aswell. If you want to upgrade now, you can contact our customer support. They will give you all the information you need."

DeadRadioStar wrote on 9/21/2016, 9:21 AM

Am I the only one that's mystified by what appears to be the level of secrecy about the upgrade pricing?  Why don't MAGIX just post the prices on the website, with an "Upgrade" button beside the "Buy"?  It's all very well to tell us to wait for an email, but I for one have never gotten any email from MAGIX in relation to Vegas and I have been unable to get them to even confirm that my details were transferred to them by Sony.

I mean, seriously, there's a captive audience here waiting with credit card in hand ......😒

Jeff_Main wrote on 9/21/2016, 12:28 PM

What happened to the post that told me the upgrade price is $199? Did the price of Vegas pro go up alot? I paid $319 in 2014 for Pro Edit. Is that $200 for the center of the road collection? I'm only looking to upgrade the edit version.

I'm Sorry, I made a mistake with the post!

GrimZeus wrote on 9/21/2016, 12:41 PM

I never got an upgrade email. Emailed support and never hear back.   Help???

Jeff_Main wrote on 9/21/2016, 12:49 PM

I haven't gotten one either Grim.

I'll have to download the trial and see if it's worth any upgrade price tonight.

Same here, no email with any upgrade key. I tried calling support but their phone is endlessly busy. Do they have any live online support?

With the mess the upgrade letters are in, I'd expect Magix to extend the expiration date of the upgrade offer. Am I alone in this?

Jeff_Main wrote on 9/21/2016, 5:20 PM

What is the upgrade offer? Is there a time window I am not aware of?

vkmast wrote on 9/21/2016, 5:24 PM

Jeff, see Nick Hope's quote of the MAGIX reply a few comments back. Some have received it, others haven't (yet). Seems to expire on 09/27.

Jeff_Main wrote on 9/21/2016, 5:36 PM

Thanks vkmast, but I was looking for an actual time window that doesn't appear published. Still waiting on that newsletter.

sergiob wrote on 9/21/2016, 9:49 PM

I got an email with an upgrade offer for $199 and when I click on the link it charges me $249 for the upgrade. I emailed them but have gotten no reply.

ben-a wrote on 9/21/2016, 10:11 PM

Sergiob - It's $199 for Vegas Pro Edit/$249 for Vegas Pro/$349 for Vegas Pro Suite. Each version has a button to click and the price will change. The buttons are above the "Regularly $599.95" and below the "SAVE $350" on the page.

No you're not, and I would also be horrified if there isn't some discounted upgrade price for owners of previous versions of Vegas after 09/27 and well into the future.
