My Windows 11 updated and VEGAS Pro 18 (and 22) open up and work just fine - including the plugin choosers.

Also, 18 is four versions back, guessing it will never be updated again.

And have you tried the solution tried by people who couldn't start VEGAS at all after the update?

I can confirm my report, having gone through this whole process twice now; it appears my first bug report was deleted.

That said, I'll look at those links, although they appear to be for Vegas 22, which I do not own.

@jetdv Installing the Redistributable didn't change the behavior with the plugin chain in my Registered VP18, Build 527.

Only rolling back my computer to before the recent Win 11 update solves the problem that I can confirm, and I'm not willing to do that on a weekly basis. That's an image of the fX window below. I am happy that not everyone is having the problem; however, it's a ShowStopper for this banned 25-year Vegas Veteran, going back to Madison Sonic Foundry VV2.

However, I NOW have a 4k 32" monitor as a gift, and I'm able to see the menus in Resolve without eyestrain, which was my biggest reason for not making the switch earlier.

Back to School at age 75 is a big challenge -- one that I'm eager to take on, and I'm excited to be learning in one of my chosen professions once again!

That said, I may not be as visible on the forum going forward, and I wish all of my colleagues here the Top of the Season!

;?)

@mark-y Season's Greetings. Never too old to grow/learn. (I know.)

I also think that there will be no update for the outdated VP18.

It appears that Microsoft broke it. Perhaps, you should ask them to fix the Windows update. I currently have an open case with Intel because they broke one of my old applications. They email me frequently to update me. So far, they haven't sent me a link to a new driver to try.

I recently reported a bug in Mediainfo and got a fix from Jerome Martinez in less than four hours with a promise to include the fix in the next update. Hmmm. I'm going to have to send some money to those folks again.

Precisely.

@mark-y My apologies if I've missed it but I cannot see that you've told us which Windows update number is causing your problem?

@mark-y Don't think an updated fix for Vegas Pro 18 will ever be possible at this time for that.... That's four versions behind, that should tell you everything.
