Welcome, your titler is great and your other's FXs' presets are so many as to be very friendly to VEGAS Pro !!

But your other's FXs can add more parameters to make them more improved and variable, referring to Sapphire, BCC, Universe, and Ignite Pro.

Marcus, third party developers have added immensely to the Vegas experience. Welcome, the more the merrier and thank you for checking in.

Thank you all so much for the kind comments! For those that have responded, do you have any favorite NewBlue products? Are there any suggestions you have, or any issues you've been experiencing?

Also welcome here.
I did not welcome you first because I have had bad experiences using all the New Blue fx's I bought with former versions of Vegas. They gave a very long load time to start Vegas video software. And when one of the developers of the Vegas team told us to not use those NB stuff anyhow, the programs started much, very much faster. There is only one installation where I use the older Pro Titler 5 and I see there a slower start of Vegas.
If you can get help to overcome this bad behaviour of NewBlue you're very welcome to help. I'm not the only one, every user on our Dutch forum is seeing the same problems.

I have the same issue, with the NB effects added to VP the startup time increases. If I take them out of the folder, VP loads very fast. There must be an answer as to why NB FX adds 20 to 40 seconds to the startup of VP.

Some examples are NewBlue transitions 5 flow, NewBlue Filters 5 Ultimate-180730, NewBlue Essentials 3 Ultimate-171120 and NewBlue Elements 3 Ultimate-180730.

Hi Markus
I miss one thing in all third-party plugins.

Modern Transitions:

Now I need a lot of plugins:

Sapphire, BCC, ReelSmart Motion Blur, Universe 2

It would be great if NewBlue FX had such effects, without the need for a lot of third-party plugins.

New feature for your Titler Pro

What do you think?

Dexcon wrote on 11/2/2019, 7:02 AM

While I do agree that transitions could be more plentiful in FX packages from NBFX and BorisFX, I did sample some of the transitions linked in pierre-k's comment. I didn't get very far because they created a form of motion sickness, but I got the impression that many of the examples are just variations (e.g. different preset options) of the same transition. Both NBFX and BorisFX have many different presets for their transitions, and if they created a video montage of all the presets of all their transitions, they could also create a long video.

The trouble with a plethora of transitions is that they sometimes invite overuse, especially with inexperienced users. Last year, a well-meaning traveller on a trip in France presented his version of a travelogue he'd edited during the trip. It seemed like that he'd decided that since his NLE had, say, 25 different transitions that he had to use all 25 transitions during the 3 minutes video.

I am however a bit confused about pierre-k's comment that he wants NBFX to include a lot of transitions to avoid the need for a 3rd party plugin. But NewBlueFX is a 3rd party plugin.

It's better to have one Third Party plugin than 5.
It's cheaper and Vegas is more stable.

I do not believe that Vegas will introduce new innovative transitions.

Very true, but that would require all supposedly independent FX companies to automatically assign their creations to NBFX or BorisFX. Such an approach would effectively mean an abandonment of the free-enterprise system and an end to competition in the market place. I think that this approach was proven ineffective during many unfortunate decades during the 20th century.

I do not believe that anyone has patented new modern transitions.
There are many commercial and free plugins that offer the same thing - classic old Transitions, various effects.

It is up to us whether we want to use them for free or buy them.

Newblue FX with modern transitions would probably be the first in the world to make it easier for NLE users to spend time and money.

Sorry.

j-v and james-ollick,

The times when you are seeing Vegas load slowly, is it opening the previous project you were working on? If you're able to start Vegas without it loading a project, do you still see the same delays with the NewBlue software installed?

I never start Vegas with a .veg, always start first the program and than an empty or other project.
Since the solution more than a year ago I deïnstalled almost all the NB stuff exept on my fastest machine, my desktop, where only Titler 5 may start with Vegas.

Admittedly it has been awhile since we've released new transition packages. I'll make sure to pass the suggestion along to our product development team.

I see not problems, but I use only plugins that are better than Vegas own possibilities. Most things I can manage with Vegas own tools.
Another thick problem, I think, is the enormous amount of "trash" that remains on my C location under App Data.
In the case of the use of 2 titlers of NB Pro 5 in a project after closing Vegas and New Blue there stays almost 4GB of useless data on my :C location.
That location I cannot change. Look here

newblue-mj  - I also have BCC 2020 installed and I see no delay in startup with only BCC 2020 (or when I had BCC 2019 and older). It makes no difference if I an loading a project or loading with no project.

Thank you so much for the additional information. Off the top of my head I'm not sure what would be causing the additional delays when loading Vegas but I'll look into it.

j-v,

I believe the only folder there that Titler Pro should be using is:

C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\Temp\Titler Pro

How big is that folder specifically?
