Looking into Project settings and render settings, I guess this is one of reason of why the rendering goes superrr loongg...

Your project frame rate is 30p, while rendering frame rate is 60p.

>Try keep in 29.97p frame rate for easy choice now.

2 potentially useful solutions for you:

1, divide your project to several regions. render these regions. finally use other software to join them. such as hitfilm express or resolve free version.

or 2, don't use Vegas native render settings. try to use Voukoder to render your project.

https://github.com/Vouk/voukoder-connectors/tree/master/

https://github.com/Vouk/voukoder/releases

@lan-mLMC So I decided to try out the second option and when I tried to open up this download link for a Vegas Pro, this happened.

just click More Info, and Keep Run.

It's just Windows' protection procedure due to 'unknown' publisher's data.

First of all... welcome to Vegas community forum.

As for render crashes or stuck in the middle, have you tried the following tips?

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-stop-vegas-pro-hanging-or-crashing-during-rendering--104786/

And, little additional tips, to avoid any of confusion, please note that there is no 'Sony Vegas Pro 17' anymore: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/sony-vegas-vs-vegas--119881/

@set First off, thanks for the compliment there. And second, I did checked out the first link for any tips and so far the only thing that I could find were options 6 & 7 since having to split up and render each sections into intermediate files was something that was recommended to me weeks ago but a couple of agents but the only problem here is that I don't know how to do that (splitting I can do however)?

Thanks @Dexcon @Dot for helping reading his super duper long paragraphs.

@Dustin-Schaefbauer, you can check via www.vegascreativesoftware.com :

And do log-in there.

hmm... makes me thinking... do you have vegas/magix account as you purchase the software via ebay or during activation ?

My...this is going more complicating. If no account, no activation process (where e-mail is required!!) ... well... I guess we know the answer...

@set First off, I already had checked out on this website for over a month now and I also learned how to log in anyways since I now already have my own MAGIX account when I first signed up and became a new member on here. And second, I never had that type of account at the time when my grandma purchased my Vegas Pro 17 from eBay and so I really don't know what to say here besides probably giving you any details of my eBay purchase (if that's what you wanted to know)?

@Dustin-Schaefbauer reinstall Voukoder main application.

And, the picture shows it seems that you are using a illegal pirated version. That may be more unstable, crashable and hangable than legal version.

Your laptop does not meet the minimum system requirements of VEGAS 17. 16GB is the minimum amount of RAM required for 1080p, 32gb for 4k.

Go to Nvidia's website and download the latest studio driver for your graphics card (not the game ready drivers).

After doing the 2 things above (you might be able to get away with rendering with only 8gb of RAM after updating your GPU, but you really do need to put an extra 8GB in there.)

Use the Magix AVC/HEVC render codec and render using the templates that have (NVENC) next to them.

I don't need your details of ebay purchase receipt. The only thing important is whether the product is officially registered in company's server.

@set Ok then, I'll definitely try that out right now and see if it was legally purchased or not (like honestly I never knew that some product on eBay could possibly be a scam without anyone taking notice of that issue in the first place since this was beyond my own knowledge). By the way, I'll be taking @fr0sty's advice afterwards once I'm done taking your advice first.

@fr0sty First off, I was aware of that fact since my last agent had told me to increase my RAM to 16GB after explaining everything to him in details and so that is something that I'm wondering if I could be able to increase on my own somehow without having to drop off my laptop at my Best Buy's curbside (for safety measures) so they could take it in and inspect it for awhile (which might cost money in this case and my grandma doesn't want me to go through that).

Also, I'll definitely take those advises from you afterwards once I check out if rather or not my software was legally purchased from 'My Product' through my account first as suggested by @set before we get started.

@set Ok so I just followed your steps (based on your screenshots) and so far it looks like my product purchase of a Vegas Pro 16 Trial has been installed on April 8. But here's the confusing problematic part of this discovery, since I've took a bunch of pictures/screenshots of everything I've been through when documenting my past dilemmas, I know for a fact that my grandma first purchased my Vegas Pro 16 from eBay before I opened and installed it in my laptop on April 4 and then later being told by one of my first agents to install a Vegas Pro 17 instead of my previous version as a replacement since it would work more effectively as I installed it on April 8. So overall, I'm not sure what this is supposed to mean (unless there was some kind of a flaw/error when identifying what product I purchased before Vegas's company mistaken it for something else perhaps; I don't know how this stuff works)?

Dustin-Schaefbauer wrote on 5/16/2020, 11:35 PM

@fr0sty So I just downloaded my own GeForce Experience studio driver after going onto NVIDIA's website and so I'm now wondering how I'm supposed to increase my graphics card from there? Also, how am I supposed to increase my RAM to 16GB if you're telling me to fix that issue after having to go through with installing this studio driver you asked me to get? And by the way, I'll definitely follow your final step on changing my render codec and template afterwards.

fr0sty wrote on 5/17/2020, 12:52 AM

Not much else you can do with a laptop GPU to upgrade it other than making sure the driver is up to date, so you're good to go there.

If doing that and using the render template I mentioned do not fix your problem, invest in another 8GB stick of RAM to put into your laptop. That will bring you up to the minimum requirements met to edit 1080p in Vegas 17, but let's see if the above 2 free options help first.

@fr0sty So I just took your advice on the rendering codec and template and let it takes its course but unfortunately it crashed after rendering for like nearly an hour at around 34% (especially since I thought my rendering would work this time since not only the file size was surprisingly smaller at 27GB this time instead of being 36GB for once but the speed was even going a bit faster than usual but I guess it was too good to be true).

By the way, just out of curiosity, I didn't do anything on my GeForce Experience as I only let it stay opened for anything just in case and so I was wondering if I was supposed to do something on there first before changing my rendering settings?

Also, one other important question, if I have to go for the option of adding 8 more GB stick of RAM into my laptop in order to reach a total of 16GB, then how could I do that on my own without having to make an appointment with Best Buy?
