New Blue Titler Activation?

I already own NB Video FX 6 but the fact that the bundled version is only going to work in VP13 needs to be sorted out now. Many people are upgrading to VP13 because of the bundled software so it needs to be made really clear which bundled software is locked to a single version of Vegas. Does that mean iZotope Nectar won't work in VP14 too?

It's a real PITA having to switch versions just because one bundled FX in a project will only work in a single version of Vegas. I have never come across this marketing practice in all the years I've been video and audio editing. What if the user wants to re-edit a project in the latest version of Vegas? This means we have to keep multiple versions of Vegas installed just because of these ridiculously restrictive and undisclosed 3rd party deals. What kind of solution is in place now for all NB VFX 6 users? 3rd party developers, including NB, and Sony need to put their heads together and fix this problem. It's creating great ill will in the Vegas community.

Spectralis,
Subject: RE: Titler and Essentials - deserves it's own thread

It has already been stated that Video Essntials VI will continue to work in future versions of Vegas Pro as well as in VP13. We have heard your comments and do wish to provide you with the best user experience possible.

Thanks that's great! I think the solution to this confusion is to, in future, make an arrangement with Sony that provides a perpetual license. This is as much Sony's responsibility as that of 3rd party developers.

I just upgraded to V13. I already own New Blue Titler 2.0 and the OnAir Lower Thirds. After installing V13, I can't get the OnAir Lower thirds to show up in TItler.

What's the recommended way to install V13 so New Blue and plugins will function?

The way I got it to work was to install VP13 first, then Titler Pro, and then last, the Lower Thirds and any NB FX. Admittedly, this was with TP3, but I would think that the same applies to TP2.

BTW, only the Sony Vegas OpenFX 64-bit selection needs to be checked on the NB installation for VP12 or VP13 use, but any NB FX also needs the Titler Pro selection checked at the bottom of that installation dialogue box so that the FX appears in Titler Pro.

I resolved my issue. I went back to the beginning to find out when and where I bought NewBlue Titler 2.0. Apparently I got it from SCS -- and to their credit they still maintain the most current download file. This made me realize that I was installing an older version of NewBlue Titler 2.0. Once I updated to the most current version and then reinstalled the lower third (with serial number) all was well. My own fault for leaving the older installation file of Titler 2.0 hanging around.

Edward, you did mention in this thread that NBTP3 will also work in any other supported NLEs you have installed. Is this a cross platform license and will also run on a Mac with the same serial number?

Thanks,
Rob
jetdv wrote on 5/19/2014, 9:25 AM
Titler Pro 3 will work in all supported NLEs you have installed on the Windows computer you are using. It is not cross-platform. To run on the Mac you would also need a Mac serial number. We can get you cross-platform pricing for that, though. Just contact NewBlue if you need both platforms.

My NB titler Pro 3 upgrade was activated on 5/31/2014. Why is it that today when using it in a project the WATERMARK appears. What gives with New Blue? Seriously?
jetdv wrote on 6/17/2014, 9:39 AM
Please deactivate and then activate again.

For issues like this, please do contact support at newblueinc.com. I do have a newer beta build you can use. Plus we are working on changing the activation process which should be available soon.
MikeyDH wrote on 6/17/2014, 2:08 PM
When I re-entered the plugin help to give support the screenshot of the invalid license warning they wanted, the watermark became a mystery. Carry on, I guess. I will look forward to the newer build .
jetdv wrote on 6/18/2014, 11:06 AM
Please do contact NewBlue now so we can get you activated. Include a snapshot of the activation screen with the serial number entered as well as a snapshot of the error message.

WOW !!!!
Reading this thread was like (and took as long) watching an hour long drama. And all of the comments I wanted to make while reading it..are moot.

I have TP1. It's handy I like it. Frankly, everything else I've personally seem from NB (effects) seem to be a duplicate of what's already in Vegas...but I havn't explored them deeply so maybe there are some Jewels in there.

So how are people feeling aout TP3 ? I'm watching the demo video and it looks impressive. ANything I should look out for ???

I came here because (and this isn't a vegas issue...it's between NVidia and NewBlue) all of a sudden Im getting a message that my video card cant handle the harfware when I tyy to render with TP1. NewBlue says my GeForce 310 card doeasn't support CUDA. But it has 16 CUDA cores. So now NVida is looking into it.
This JUST happened....I've had this card and been running this software for at least 2 years, The only thing I did recently was install the demo version of Vegas 13, this weeknd. But I get the error with Vegas 11 and Vegas 13.
Lovelight wrote on 8/12/2014, 11:38 PM
TP3 is awesome. It is much improved. It can stress out vegas if the title is too complex, but that is Vegas.
fosko wrote on 8/13/2014, 12:02 AM
Can you recommend a good, inexpensive video card ?
In case I need to upgrade.
Lovelight wrote on 8/13/2014, 12:52 PM
I haven't found a great video card that I could recommend for Vegas. What I use is adequate but its efficiency/reliability with Vegas is not recommendation worthy. I suspect Vegas code is at fault.
videoITguy wrote on 8/13/2014, 1:23 PM
I use a Nvidia 550TI with VegasPro13 and New Blue Titler 3 that seems to work well.
Admittedly the 550TI is there for NewBlue - I could care less about turning on GPU for Vegas - so my comment is not to measure VegasPro at all.

NewBlue3 is a streamlined performer of New Blue 1 which I also own and use in VegasPro9.

Stay away from Nvidia 600 and above cards - they won't do you any good.

I just purchased the upgrade to Vegas 13 and found that all of my titles are now watermarked. I'm an amateur wildlife film maker, I don't make any money from films and I don't have the budget to upgrade to the new titler. Can I still get this $19.95 upgrade to restore my titler 1, right now I feel pretty upset at losing all my tiles.

Regards
Andy holt
jetdv wrote on 9/22/2014, 2:58 PM
Yes, you can still get the $20 upgrade.
PGV wrote on 10/1/2014, 5:28 PM
Hi,

Where can I get this $20 upgrade? I have now the same situation. Just updated to Vegas Pro 13 and all my titles are watermarked now.

Thanks in advance.
jetdv wrote on 10/2/2014, 2:08 PM
PGV, just send an e-mail to support at newblueinc.com asking for this and NewBlue will take care of you.

The new price is 149.00 for the upgrade to version 3..
Sent a Email requesting assistance and they will only honor a 149.00 price ...
Or a $20 price to keep Titler 1 working in Vegas 13...
