You have done the best you can do... with a limited equipment.... 🙂👍

If your phone can do 4K and do a more digital zoom from it, that can simulate a different focal length, although DOF may not be.

btw, where's this online contest challenge? in case I or other user wants to participate :)

I feel I could have done better with more time. :) But, yeah, total rush job, almost didn't do it, because I HATE working like that!! Camera was HD only - $99 cell :D I own a 4K camera, and BOY, did I miss it in every way.

Contest is a local Film Facebook page, no prizes, just fun

Cool Thread!

All videos on this channels were created entirely with Vegas:

and https://www.youtube.com/visuellerlebensstil

aaaand a timeline video:

LOVE IT!

More from me:

Nenden Shinta, a local talented yet blind musician write this song for Medical Staffs currently 'work hard' in their position, during this difficult time. I along with my elder brother help editing the music clip that fits her vision, using some of our Indonesia landscape Stock Footage, combined with medical staff during the work moment photographs gathered by her or her community friends.

The song is in Indonesian language and the lyric is available in Youtube's description.

In short:

"The Beautiful & Smiling Indonesia has been covered with black cloud. It's now time for our promise, to do what we can do for our country. Indonesia awaits"

Another music clip that we done 1.5 years ago, written by my friend, and made beautiful into a song by Nenden and her husband (also blind).

"White Paper"

"A blank white paper, where you can write something, anything that comes from your heart. And there you can see about yourself, what you wish, and your wish to become your true self, without mask that double faces."

Right.

Since most of my work is SOCIAL MEDIA related, I share this with the greatest cringe of my life:

Yes. This is a Money Heist inspired Gym promo.

No. I'm not proud of this - but I did it anyway:

Seeing as how all my upcoming work was cancelled I had time
to put together this video montage. Aerials are from a Phantom 4 pro.
Stills are from a Canon.  I recorded the audio using the ORTF method and performed the mix in Vegas.

I did use Izotope for some cleanup.

That's fantastic, what a beast of a player, excellent mix and thse camera angles, transitions, and composite shots are excellent.

Fun video of 1st Birthday celebration of one of my local running group - with today's favorite of Passing 'thing' challenges 😅

Friends media sources were sent via WhatsApp messaging, so it is heavily downscaled and compressed... but however, it's the easiest way of sharing... so.. just do the best using these medias.

Of course, instead of 'simple cutting' (by my friend), make it #VegasProPowered ! 😁

For posting in running group's IG and my IG.

john_dennis wrote on 5/2/2020, 11:53 AM

@michael-harrison

There is no sweet spot that you can find when your video contains lots of fine details and/or motion. Your videos contain both. The limitation is the bit rate that YouTube returns, not what you upload.

RE: The Eagles, "You can check out any time you want, but you can never leave."

You can upload any bit rate you want, but what you get back is what YouTube streams.

michael-harrison wrote on 5/2/2020, 12:03 PM

@john_dennis That certainly matches my experience so far. I'm beginning to wonder if YT gives ad-worthy youtubers more bits. I've seen many that have as much detail but look much clearer on my end. I haven't yet tried to download and compare videos that have the detail I want. I probably won't bother since I've seen for myself that for me at least, bit rate hardly matters.

@john_dennis I'd followed that thread and while I can't prove my thesis above using that data, I'll say that you also fall into the possible "you're going to get a shitty conversion because you aren't ad-worthy" category.

I'm not willing to take the time it would take to prove my thesis since I'm not paying for the hosting of my videos but that kind of behaviour would fit right in line with google's other practices.

So what do you do if break quarantine, go to the beach with no cellphone so the traffic cam satellites can't track you and mail you a ticket, and you spot a fisherman wrestling to free a 9-foot hammerhead shark from his line? And the only person with a cell phone brave enough to get his feet wet holds it like he's shooting a selfie! Better call Vegas. Got the cellphone guy to lay the footage on me and constructed a 4:3 landscape pan/crop window fit to the width of his portrait-mode footage. Then limited movement to just the Y-axis, and slowly dragged out a loop region stopping to slide the window whenever the object of interest, the shark, threatened to leave view. Dropping keyframes in the process. Saved the day and the shark.
