This isn't related to the plug-in but shows an alternative method. I always liked Robert's tutorials. Too bad he stopped making them. He actually sounds a lot like Andrew Kramer from Video Co-pilot.

Hi! The plugin works fine regarding the animation, but I'm having an issue because when I open Route Entry the map image appears to small 😔 Any clues on this?

It's been fixed and is working again now.

Nice, still works in Vegas Pro 21. It did crash when I left the RouteAnimation effect dialog open, then played the animation a few times, and then started playing with the keyframes, such as dragging the end frame back and forth.

I have used this plug in for years on Windows 10- now have windows 11 pro and cant get it installed. If someone could help that would be great. I get this error. Thank you. I love this plug and use it for everything!

Robert Johnston wrote on 10/27/2025, 8:39 PM

@Kimberly-Durecki

Is the .dll file in the location specified in the .bat file? If you no longer have the C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 10.0 folder, you will need to modify the .bat file with Notepad so the path points to the location of the .dll file, probably something like C:\Program Files\Vegas\Vegas Pro 23.0\Video Plug-ins\VegasRouteAnimation\RouteAnimationX64.dll. Copy the RouteAnimationX64.dll file to that location before running the .bat (install) from an administrator terminal window. Also, modifiy the uninstall .bat file in Notepad so the path points to same location as indicated in the install .bat file.

I got it to work in Vegas Pro 21 and 23. Having already run the .bat file for 21, I didn't have to run the .bat install file for Vegas Pro 23, I just copied the RouteAnimationX64.dll file to the folder I created: C:\Program Files\Vegas\Vegas Pro 23.0\Video Plug-ins\VegasRouteAnimation\.

Thank you. I did watch the tutorial but since it is old and does not have sound and the person computer is in another language it is hard to follow his steps. I dont understand how to modify the file. I have the program downloaded, just trying to get it on my Windows 11 Pro machine, this I am stuck on. Thank you for any help.

As shown in the video, open the .bat files in the editor and change the path specified there to the path where your RoutanimateX64.dll was saved, then start the new batch file as administrator.
