Interestingly, my previous (and so far only VEGAS-related) email ("Get your new version today with this upgrade offer – valid until November 18, 2016") now links to the above newsletter, when I want to "learn more".

And the comment quoted below still seems to stand

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/magix-will-there-be-an-upgrade-offer--103617/#ca641182

Note that the link in the quote now gives you the current offer as well.

Quitter wrote on 11/25/2016, 8:03 AM

Note: It is declared as an upgrade again.
But it is a full version which can also use by new users, because it contains all serial numbers!

Quitter, do you mean that to continue ordering you do not need a qualifying serial number?

I'd expect to get the S/Ns for my new product as your screenshot seems to confirm.

see my try as guest:

To again confirm, did you not need to give a qualifying serial number of a previous Vegas Pro version in the ordering process? If not, you are right, it's not an upgrade pricing in the sense that SCS used with "upgrade." (From SCS: "this upgrade pricing is available to you as an owner of previous or limited feature versions of the application.")

Quitter wrote on 11/25/2016, 8:42 AM

No, i open the link and try to purchase as a guest.
During the process I was never asked for a serial number
(i don't finished, cause i have VP14)

Not sure I get this...so new users can buy V14 for $199?? an the upgrade "offer" from V13 is $199 too?
Pretty expensive for an upgrade IMO, and pretty cheap for a full version.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 12x 3.7 GHz
32 GB DDR4-3200 MHz (2x16GB), Dual-Channel
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, 8GB GDDR6, HDMI, DP, studio drivers
ASUS PRIME B550M-K, AMD B550, AM4, mATX
7.1 (8-chanel) Surround-Sound, Digital Audio, onboard
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 250GB, NVMe M.2 PCIe x4 SSD
be quiet! System Power 9 700W CM, 80+ Bronze, modular
2x WD red 6TB
2x Samsung 2TB SSD

NickHope wrote on 11/25/2016, 10:53 AM

Bear in mind that VEGAS Pro 14 Edit is cheaper if you don't need these extras that come with the standard VEGAS Pro 14:

  • NewBlueFX Looks
  • Native + NewBlueFX Titler Pro Express
  • Native + proDAD Mercalli V4 (NEW)
  • VEGAS DVD Architect

You can still use your existing DVD Architect 5.2 or 6.0 if you have it. There is nothing new in the current version.

Mindmatter wrote on 11/25/2016, 11:12 AM

Thanks Nick, I didn't know that. I already got NB titler pro 4, DVDA, not sure I'm really convinced by Mercalli. Guess that makes for a cheaper upgrade then.

I'm surprised that DVDA 7 has nothng new.

That's not true, is has two major updates:

  1. 20 new templates
  2. no AC3-Pro codec

(unfortunately, no joke)

For the benefit of those who don't already know this, there's a workaround for rendering AC-3 Pro in Vegas Pro 14 if you have a previous version of Vegas Pro. Haven't got DVDA7 so I don't know how this relates to a lack of AC-3 Pro within that itself. I prefer DVDA5.2 anyway because of this.

Not only a previous version of Vegas Pro for the .dll, but also a previous version of DVDA Pro to recognise this dll.
The new DVDA Pro is not enough.

The ads say 'available until November 30'. Is November 30th included? What is the actual deadline time and date?

The reason why I ask is I get paid on December 1 and that is automatically deposited in my account about 3:00 am central time USA. So certain areas would still be November 30th at that time.

So at the last minute I could purchase the upgrade if it is still available at that time. I have done a number of last second purchases this way.

Yeah thanks. I just bought the upgrade the day before. Assuming I am Sol.

To be clear. I need to know if my current New Blue Titler 3 will work in the "upgrade" to Vegas Edit 14. I have that and it didn't work in the TRIAL. Magix never got back to me on the issue to explain why it didn't or why it should. Very disappointed in the communication  I gave up. I don't want the NEW Blue Express or the Looks. I have Mercalli SAL4.. If I am going to put out any money I really NEED to know if what I already have is going to work in Vegas 14 EDIT. What won't I get that Pro has. Thanks

Contact NewBlueFx support for the latest.  Edward is very good about responding.  He will have the full picture of what you can expect in regards to running TP3 in VP14 in your case.  But this was my exact situation too.  I already had TP3 and wanted to use it with VP14.  Here's the download link that I was told use.

http://www.newbluefx.com/downloads/Magix/NewBlueVegasProComplete-161118.exe

it's called 161118 but the Manager shows 161119.  There may be some other update to this by now. I have not checked lately.  It does run, but I don't use NewBlue much so I cannot tell you if it is equal to Version 3 or better .. or what?  Edward will have the answers.  Contact NewBLue support.

On the plugins -- yes and yes.  On the upgrade decision -- if you don't own the Mercalli, I'd say it's worth the $199 ( I paid $249).  I didn't think I'd use the Mercalli but as I got use to it, I am using.  I'm using it more than I thought I would just to touch up hand held shots that were marginal.  But -- bottom line -- your money -- your decision.

You need to upgrade Vegasaur from 2 to 3 for VP14. There was a 25%-off Black Friday offer. Don't know if it's still on.
