VASST Plug-ins for MAGIX Vegas Pro 14.0 (Happy New Year!)

The VASST plug-ins for Vegas Pro have been modified to work with the MAGIX version of Vegas Pro 14.0. The installers continue to support the Sony versions as well. One installer will install both versions if both Sony and MAGIX software is found on your computer.

You can download the new installers at our VASST Software Download page for the following updated plug-ins:

Ultimate S Pro 4

If you need updates for CinemaLooks Vol 01 - 13 or TitleStrips Vol 01 - 04 send an email to VASST support and we'll look up your order and send you a new link.

These updates will work with your existing license keys and are free updates for existing license owners. If you already have an older version installed, it will pick up the existing license key and continue to work or, if prompted, just enter your existing license key.

Note that the version number has not changed for the Sony versions of our plug-ins. For example, it is perfectly normal to see version 1.1 in Vegas Pro 14.0 and version 1.0.1 for the same plug-in in Vegas Pro 13.0 or earlier. We did not change the Sony versions of the plug-ins at all so no need to download the update if you are not using the MAGIX version of Vegas Pro 14.

Edit: (2/12/2016) Ultimate S Pro 4 has now been updated.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I got it working. I found I need to temporarily change my user account to admin in order to install Ultimate S Pro. It would be better if the installer had an option to install for all users or select the user account. I also found that after installation Ultimate S had messed up my Toolbar in Vegas 14 by adding various icons in seemingly random places. It did a better job in Vegas 13 but I think other than perhaps the master icon it shouldn't add anything. Sorting out Toolbars is finicky in Vegas because of the nasty little dialogue that can't be resized. So note to extension developers - hands off my Toolbars!

Actually, it would be better if Windows worked like a proper OS and would elevate the privileges of the current user like the Mac does instead of switching to another user which makes no sense. Glad you figured that out.

I can assure you that Ultimate S Pro did not do anything to your toolbar because there is no API to manipulate the toolbar in any way. That's just a bug in Vegas Pro that has been there for years. There is no way to programmatically add an icon to the toolbar even if we wanted to.

Given that Windows doesn't elevate the privileges of the current users I think developers should take that into account. I see plenty of software that offers to install for all users and I think that is preferable. Regarding the toolbar what's the bug? Installation of Vegasaur didn't add lot's of icons and I seem to remember it even had an option during installation for whether to add a toolbar icon or not. Anyway, thanks for a very useful addition to Vegas.

The VASST FasstApps do not support Movie Studio 14 at this time. We are waiting for MAGIX to work with us to make these updates as we cannot do them on our own. I currently have no timeframe for the update because of this (sorry).

I think Johnny is incredibly tolerant - seriously, if you want to use the amazing professionalism of the VASST plug-ins, buy the professional version of Vegas, which Magix has taken over and we need to support if we want to continue using this amazing software.

We have not received any updated libraries from VASST at this point to update the licensing for the FASST apps. Unfortunately they will not work in VEGAS Movie Studio 14.0 until an update has been provided.

Movie Studio Platinum is working just fine for my needs, so I'd rather not upgrade to Vegas Pro at this time. Just curious if there were any updates about the status of this situation. Thanks.

I had to reinstall my Vegas Pro 13 (have not upgraded yet) but when I go to put my serial number (which I know is good) in for my vasst products, they say the serial # is wrong. What is the problem? It's not a lot of money but I still purchased it. Thanks.

That could be a possibility but I have to get paid apps working before I worry about free apps (sorry).

Yea, I'm hoping that by the new year I will get these updated. The problem is that Vegas Pro 15 introduced an extremely dark interface and unfortunately, I originally used the Sony widgets thinking it would make things look more compatible but they don't have a label widget so the plug-ins now have black text on an almost black background and they are unreadable in Vegas Pro 15. I have to change all of my UI code to NOT use the Sony widgets anymore and that's quite a lot of work so it's taking a lot longer than expected. I realize that this might not affect Movie Studio (I haven't tested with it yet) but it's a common code base so I want to make these changes all at once.

I have updated all of the FasstApps to work with the Dark UI in Vegas Pro 15. Also all of the installers now recognize Vegas Pro 15. You can get the latest installers from our vasstsoftware.com/download/ page. Please let me know if anything doesn't look right but I have tested all of the installers in both Windows 7 and Windows 10 with Vegas Pro 15 and they look OK to me.

I am now moving on to the Movie Studio work. I will keep you all posted.

Thanks, I was keeping on eye out for the new installers to support Vegas 15 alone on my new PC (without having to re-install Vegas 14). Stutterframe and Timewarp installs and works fine now.
