@pierre-k I fact checked you on your post about DRP not working anymore. I can't see it here so unless you posted that claim in the main forum section you may have already fact checked yourself. DRP works fine and you do see performance increase with it turned on

I was unable to download the new features pdf mentioned in the News post. Also, trying to go directly to the web address was blocked.
I made a comment about non Vegas Hub MP4 video portion not reading this version and build in another thread! This fact is video software broken! Vegas Hub barely downloads one of its versions of an MP4 that does move to a timeline with video, however the video library works once then gives up! Then Vegas Pro 22.0 stalls, fits, stops, starts, blanks, comes back. Please advise asap. Vegas engineers - those people.

@RogerS I think u will get similar results. I no longer have the R5 but do have a test clip from 2021.
Just to understand about the clip. It's shot in camera at 100 fps setting then automatically conformed in camera to 25 fps to give Slomo.
I'll upload link shortly.
I haven't got around to testing same clip in Mk. II. If it's not working in Mk. I then unlikely to be any different outcome.
The reason I mention this now is that I understand that Magix/VP are interested in getting improvements in file handling etc.
BTW the nvenc rendering stop/start issue hasn't yet been fixed.
You're right, it's full of black frames here with my RTX 2080. I wonder if the issue for VEGAS is the unusually high bitrate? Hopefully others can test it as well.
I haven't seen any changes to encoding. I think the decoding and video engine are big enough tasks to get working first.
Well, the good news for me anyway is that my previous assumption was incorrect. The R5 II equivalent XFVC format plays ok with no black frames. i.e. 100 fps conformed to 25 fps without audio. The extra HFR codec in the R5 II that wasn't in the R5 ..100 fps with audio, not conformed in camera also plays ok.

Probably not a data rate issue, the newer version that does work is only a bit smaller than the original R5 .. 351 vs 441 Mbps.
The 100fps not conformed in R5 II camera that also works in VP is 1,425 Mbps. Probably some codec issue.
@vkmast: Thanks. The problem was windows or McAfee blocking the "insecure download"---but it took a couple of tries to figure it out...
One attempt, copying just the basic dropbox URL, had me having to login to dropbox...
Another failed because the period at the end of the sentence got copied & fouled the link...
When I finally got to a download, the rejection message was so brief I barely had time to tell my system to "keep" the download anyway.
After all that...does it discuss new features in this release, or is it a copy of the version from the original V22 release? I haven't looked yet, sorry.

I just checked the SOOC Canon R5 4k clip that up to now didn't play correctly with Nvidia GPU. No change. Just black frames.
Clip specs: 4K 4096 x 2160, ALL-I, 420 8 bit.
@johnny-s A very dangerous memory leak that could crash other software running or even Windows before you even know what's going on.
It looks like those non-rendered frames that don't show are eating away your system memory and won't be released.

I am on the newest version of 22. How to make auto preview button stay on all the time?? Otherwise this version is a ton more stable and easy to use.

In VP 22 it is the same as in VP 21, but I have this option activated since "always".
I don't understand why it only affects some videos, especially those that have been edited. They appear in black in the Edit Line but I can preview and edit them...(!)
in the Preference/General tab there is an option Dx11 output.
What does this mean?
@pierre-k good question, I usually leave most defaults as they are, given a few exceptions, but this one may be interesting to enable. My best guess is to enable the use of Microsoft window's DX11 API for rendering specific stuff (like it is implemented in UNITY: Depth of field, noise and grain effect, motion blur effect) or maybe even everything... which can improve performance if it is HW accelerated. But I really do not know, it is my best guess. It maybe even something put in for future use of FX features yet to come, who knows !
@VEGASDerek or someone else from the team to explain what it does, or if we should enable it or not (if there are disadvantages)
