Vegas Pro 22 Crashes When Checking Driver Update

Nizar-AbuZayyad wrote on 1/13/2025, 6:28 AM

I’m encountering an issue with Vegas Pro 22 (Build 194). As soon as I click on the "Check Driver Update" option, it crashes and gives me the "Vegas Pro has stopped working" error.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

Updated my GPU drivers (RTX 3080, latest version from NVIDIA).

Reset Vegas Pro preferences (Ctrl + Shift during startup).

Verified that my system has sufficient resources (64GB RAM, Intel i9-12900F, Windows 11 Pro).

Despite the latest drivers being installed, Vegas Pro crashes when I check for driver updates. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any ideas on how to fix it?

The crash report shows these logs being loaded:

It's been like this for a few weeks, just don't use it for now.

We are likely to remove this utility. It has been far too much work to upkeep as APIs continue to change underneath us.

It's currently working OK for me (V22) but to be honest I don't really use it to keep my drivers updated. The new Nvidia app does the job. Also I have been using the game driver for some time now and have not seen any issues with V22 (or my other versions of Vegas) with the various game ready drivers. [If you are not a gamer then best to use the Studio Driver just in case].
