VP19 B550 Render is slow

would the thread still be locked?

@Former user Obviously not.

Resolve, as a free software, could be a great aid tool for Vegas.

@xcxz-a @Former user "that post" was closed but is still available for anyone to read. I'm not speculating on potential unlockings, but please be assured that all the forum moderators (with 9 to 19 years of posting history on SCS/MAGIX VEGAS) have the best interests of VEGAS in mind all the time. We would not be doing this full-time volunteer work on the forum otherwise. Thank you for your understanding.

@xcxz-a The thread you refer to was locked as it had gone off topic. Best illustrated by this post from the original OP

Former user wrote on 5/14/2022, 6:58 AM

@vkmast Why was it closed? no one outside that thread was being tagged, @xcxz-a brought up Resolve which no one seemed too interested in but with @Former user, @kaylaalg & I we were having a general discussion, there were no bad attitudes or bullying, I thought a forum was open to members to 'discuss' 😒🤷‍♂️

It was 4:29 AM when i made that last comment, I woke up this morning with positives to add in favour of Vegas & possibly a different idea to get better render from the OP's video instead of using a blur, ?

t had gone off topic.

@EricLNZ Hi, I don't think so. The post mentions Movie Edit Pro, Resolve, Filmora, etc. Movie Edit Pro and Resolve have the most. But Movie Edit Pro is also a Magix product, so it shouldn't be too far off the topic.

Particularly Resolve is a free tool that does not compete with Vegas commercially, and can import Vegas' XML. It can be used as a free aid tool for Vegas users in color grading, special effects, audio FX, and rendering.

So, it's not really far off the topic. 😂

vkmast wrote on 5/14/2022, 7:26 AM

@Former user @xcxz-a please see @EricLNZ's comment right above yours. It seems he had a valid reason, cf. the OP's screengrab which confirms this. If any changes to the OP are made, a reason needs to be "provided". Unfortunately the reason does not always appear with the "Last changed by" notification.

Please remember that MAGIX products have their own forum at magix.info/us/ (or /de/ etc.). Comp arisons are allowed, but some users seem to want to bring up other NLEs into most of their comments.

Former user wrote on 5/14/2022, 7:56 AM

@vkmast Everything that was discussed/mentioned was in relation to Vegas, the mention of Resolve would have been quashed as i mentioned 'no one was interested in it' & the conversation, the general discussion was about Vegas & would have continued to be so. We all admitted to liking Vegas, it's ability to do things others can't, it's interface & workflow but If the lows of Vegas cannot be mentioned as well as the highs using other software as a comparison then that's a blinkered attitude, I mentioned MEP because the OP said she'd tried Resolve & it wasn't for her, but i also mentioned that Vegas can do things that MEP can't, the last comment i had with the OP was reg different 'blurs' in Vegas, the conversation would have regain it's Vegas course

@Former user the topic title there was "Very slow rendering with Vegas Pro 19". Please compare with the (mostly) on-topic comments in this thread.

Former user wrote on 5/14/2022, 8:45 AM

@vkmast I still think it was wrong to close that thread, it was worked out that the added blur was the main culprit to the slow rendering & solutions were being tried to find a way around that in Vegas but the conversation was closed before other possible solutions could be found, I repeat it was a friendly discussion & no one outside that thread had been tagged,

I'll stop this now as it shouldn't be continued in 'this' thread,

+1
@Former user More and more O.P.'s with a question are becoming all kind of comments between you and other members, not solving the opening question but making the member with that question more and more uncertain.

Hi all, just seeing this now. @EricLNZ - I'm a bit disappointed that my thread was locked for further commenting as I had not yet found a resolution that I was happy with and was enjoying the testing and ideas that @Former user and @Former user were going through to help get me more information to make a decision. I made that comment to @xcxz-a in an effort to get the thread back on topic and hoped that they would not make a further comment. Is it not possible for one user to be prevented from posting further in a thread instead of locking the thread entirely? Anyway, it's fine if the thread stays locked. I'll re-read the comments that were left and make a decision from there.

@j-v Hi, I was not uncertain at all and the additional comments provided were very helpful for me. Please don't speak for others.

You locked it after my last 2 comments. My comment was on topic. A discussion about a particular Vegas project and Gaussian blur and if it was reasonable to call it slow, or given the poster's 75w GPU was it acceptable and expected behavior. Another user said it would be so much faster in Resolve which I did not believe to be correct assuming the same GPU bottleneck for Gaussian blur, but I tested the premise anyway, using the same Vegas project. You close a thread based on a factual result of a test, not even an opinion

You reward original research and testing by censoring the thread without even posting a reason in the thread, and what did that result in? A heap of off topic messages you now have a valid reason to censor. I've seen so many false things said about Vegas based on a feeling or it would seem to make sense that people have repeated here for many years which I've proven to be false in the last 6months. Why demoralize people like @Former user and I that take that extra effort to test to help people with answers. Poor judgment

@vkmast  Might i point out that other editors were mentioned in this post, they were used in a similar way to show that the OP's file could be played & edited in other hosts, but this post hasn't been closed,

Thanks for taking the time to run apples to apples tests. It's sorely needed!

@vkmast & @EricLNZ & I'd like to point out in the last 84 posts, 3 have been locked, one was a duplicate, one was about cassettes so i presume the wrong forum & Kaylaalg's post ??? 🤷‍♂️
