Anybody feeling offended can well come in here and explain to us why the things are as they are. But I can also take this to Facebook and other social medias that have a far further reach if you prefer so.

And again, if Magix cant accept justified critic then it shows again what kind if company it is.

Do you really think threatening me does any good or will convince me to buy VP14 or any later version for that matter? Think twice.

Just my opinion of course . 😃

I'm feeling a bit offended.  There is a lot of passionate statements from Vegas users and Wolfgang S. replies with statements defending the cause of the frustrations of those users, adding to the frustrations, rather than work to understand the frustrated opinions and provide insight into the reason Magix has made the offers which I think are at the core of the frustration.

I would presume Wolfgang, you are not privy to why Magix has made the offers for v14 as they have (you may have even stated that somewhere), it just appears you are arguing on behalf of the business practices regardless of how many have expressed displeasure.  It is certainly your right to disagree, however as a mod I think you are doing more harm than good for Magix and the Vegas community.

Hi, I am in the middle of a project with my Sony Vegas Pro 12 and it stopped working today. Then it came a note with a link for the update. It took me to Vegas Pro 14 page, wich I downloaded. But I can´t use my serial number for that. I don´t want to spend with upgrades. I just want to keep using my Pro 12 or the update that shows it is available. Can someone help me fixing this, please? Thanks. I am in Brazil.

The upgrade that the link shows will not work with your serial becaues it is Vegas Pro 14 what must be purchased. So if you do not want to buy this upgrade, a way foreward can be to uninstall your defect version and install the build 770 again, as suggested in the link by vkmast.

Since we cannot know what does not work any more with your existing version we cannot be sure if that will help you. But I would give that a try.

Wolfgang,

I read lots of questions - or more accurately the same questions asked repeatedly and not being responded to. The only venting is because our questions are not being answered or even acknowledged.

Specifically what did Eric mean when he stated current users of 13 should wait for a special offer rather than buy the 13+14 product for $199? (because, no matter how you put it, at the moment the answer seems to be "because then you can pay more for it")

Tim,

I understand you quite well if you say you would expect an answer to those questions. Understandable and fair enough!

But it is up to Eric to explain his statement. But what if he will not explain that? If it was simply an communication error? I do not know that and you do not know that. But if there is no answer then this must be accepted.

It makes no sense to complain endless about the same topic, and - because OldSmoke rejects the answer and he knows why because he knows the answer quite well ;) - I have to state it quite clear: it is not in line with the rules what is going on here.

If that was accepted up to now in a very tolerat way, there are a lot of company forums where that would have been closed after the second page. But where is an end?

Why? Why must we accept being screwed over?

But where is an end?

The end will be when there is an acceptable, to us previous owners acceptable answer from Magix why we are getting screwed. Even if Eric has misspoken, it would be his companies responsibility to correct his error. As a minimum, I expect the same offer being extended again to all previous owners of Sony Vegas Pro 13 that was offered earlier this summer; the one we asked NOT to take. I would even accept if Vegas Pro 14, not Edit, would be offered at $199.00, it doesnt have to include VP13. That would still be a lesser offer but one I could live with as a good will.

There was no communication error between me and Eric.  He wrote English, I read English.  In the context of the thread (in July), his reply "implied" there would be a similar or better offer for those of us on v13 (Wolfgang can spin this as he pleases, however perception is the truth).  If there was a communications error, it may well have been between Eric and someone else at Magix, which I don't know, nor do I think at this point anyone knows except Eric and someone at Magix.

If OldSmoke knows the answer, I think he would have stated so rather than him, me and others repeatedly asking.  To be specific, my question now is, "why did Magix offer v13+v14 for $199 to anyone in July/August, when it was presented as a upgrade, Eric then stated v13 users should hold for the release in September, then in September Magix offered Vegas Pro 14 at $249?  I don't expect Wolfgang to address this question, unless he gets the answer from Magix to post here.

Thank You and Best Regards......George
