NewBlue Titler products on VP14

Will Jetdv please explain something to me.  I have used the bundled VP11 NewBlueTitler1 for years now off and on and still used it as recently as a month ago.  I buy VegasPro14 and it installs (a nonworking) TitlerExpress that DELETES my Titler1 that I still use in various ongoing projects.   What am I supposed to do if I want go back and make a tweak to one of those projects!!??   Why did you delete software that belongs to us and not even bother telling us during the installtion.  Warning: By installing this TitlerExpress software you will delete any existing NewBlueTitler on your computer.   Or something like that.  Please tell me what I am missing here.

Erik

Erik, the bundles or Titler Pro 2,3, or 4 will not touch Titler Pro 1. The bundled versions are based on Titler Pro 3 and can coexist with Titler Pro 1.

This is not what I am experiencing.  I just opened a project in Vegas 12 that I created back in 2012.  There is a graphic that was created used TitlerPro1.  I can still see the text fly in a single letter at a time but when I click on the effect icon on the timeline event there is no NewBlue Titler Pro activated for the event.  The only thing there is a glint effect that was added.  It's weird because you can see the text and the flyin of the graphic but it is as if it was done by magic as there is no connection to any titler.

Additonally.  When I look at what options I do have in Vegas12 for NewBlue Titlers, there is only an option for NewBlue Titler Pro2 and nothing else.  When you try to open this option, you see a new splash screen for Titler Express and then the app hangs and will not open.

My old titler is gone!  It has been replaced by NewBlue Titler Pro 2.

Can my old NewBlue Titler Pro 1 be reinstalled on this computer now?  Will it work or conflict with Titler Pro 2?

jetdv wrote on 9/30/2016, 9:16 PM

Titler Pro 2 does not replace Titler Pro 1. TP1 is totally separate from all other versions of Titler. Yes you can install TP1 but I cannot guarantee it will work in VP14 properly. If it is the bundled version, I would definitely have a watermark.

i am erikd wrote on 9/30/2016, 10:23 PM

Well, when the TP2 installer was running, you could see it deleting files on my computer like there was no tomorrow.  After the install, TP1 was no longer installed on my computer and I certainly didn't uninstall it.   What pray tell was the TP2 installer deleting if not TP1 files?

Can you please provide me with a link to download the TP1 software or explain to me how I can get the software back onto my computer.

(EDIT: I was able to download and install TP1 from this link. http://www.newbluefx.com/downloads/Windows/NewBlueTitlerProForWindowsSetup10-131217.exe

However, it now asks for a serial number.  I don't have this.  What is the next step please?)

Also, in the event that TP2 becomes a working software, can it handle TP1 work done in previous projects? Meaning, open them, make adjustments and resave?

(EDIT: After the install of TP1 as noted above, TP2 is still installed but still crashes on opening.)

Thanks.

Yes NewBlue titler programs are not working in VP14. Just finished trying to add two titles to a project one worked the second crashed. I have uninstalled all NewBlue titles.

I had issues with nbtp4 and the latest vp14. After support from Newblue, I installed the new Blue Vegas pro complete and reinstalled the current nbtp4 [9-30-16]... that fixed everything. Titles from old project and new work beautifully. In my experience, from nbtp1 to 4, New Blue support is always very responsive.

OK I''l try downloading the latest version of NBTP4 and see. Many thanks Andy.

Erik, as long as you use the OpenFX version of Titler Pro 1 in Vegas Pro 11 or 12, all will be fine. Titler Pro 1 was not bundled with other versions of Vegas so you will get a watermark in those versions unless you had purchased it and have a serial number.

Can you post Titler pro 4 lastest installer please?

In my experience installing Magix Vegas Pro 14 (or the updates of NewBlue Vegas Pro Complete) 'll destroy older installations of Vegas Pro 12, 13 in combination with NewBlueTitler Pro 2 (full version). The installation process deletes files of NewBlueTitler Pro 2. Bad marketing or a bug? NewBlueFX should be ashamed.

At the end I managed to use my NewBlueTitler Pro 2 (full) in Vegas 12, 13 and 14 at cost of losing NewBlue Titler Pro 3 (express) and some other NewBlue filters in Vegas 14.

For the procedure I used see : http://www.focusonvegas.com/newbluefx-titler-pro-2-in-magix-vegas-pro-14/

Dropping to the DirectX version is not a good solution.

Titler Pro 2, 3, and 4 will replace each other. That way when you move to a newer version, the titles will follow along. This was not the case from Titler Pro 1 to 2 and we got a lot of grief because the old titles did not automatically move to the new version and each title had to be manually converted one at a time. This is no longer necessary but different installers will overwrite. So this is really neither bad marketing nor a bug.

i will certainly post a link to Titler Pro 4 as soon as I have a finalized link to send. We've had good luck with a current beta but there's still another issue to finish up.

I will stay away from the trial until things settle down regarding memory leaks, broken scripts, software installs not working, lack of emails for loyal users,  etc. What I do want to say is jetdv is great at support and I am sure he is waiting for development to resolve the issue(s).

The thing that I do not get is that with every release of titler that I had experience with (version 2/3) there were always install issues which required help. Installs are supposed to be and are the easy part. It appears that extensive testing or even basic testing is lacking from NewBlue,Magix and in the past Sony.

Why would an installer touch anything that is already installed for another version in the first place?

skosh wrote on 10/1/2016, 10:06 PM

Jetdv just saw you post about Titler Pro replacing old versions and I have a question about why can't they all coexist as I do recall my version 3 was in the 2 directory and it was confusing as after the install I did not see a version 3 directory.

Is there any reason why to just overwrite the old directory instead of creating a new one and copying old stuff over? I experienced this from 2 to 3 but would never have thought that it is the same for the next version.

(jetdv) Dropping to the DirectX version is not a good solution.

Maybe not so fancy, but at least it is stable and working out of the box in Sony Vegas Pro 12 and 13 and Magix Vegas Pro 14.

(jetdv) So this is really neither bad marketing nor a bug.

I own Titler Pro 2 full and after installing Vegas Pro 14 (not the suite) I end with a mixture of Titler Pro 3 express installations that destroyed my Titler Pro 2 full in Vegas Pro 12 and 13. This should be normal and is not bad marketing or a bug? Can you explain more? At least I expect my Titler Pro 2 full installation 'll not be touched by the Titler Pro 3 express installation of Magix Pro 14. Alternative : make it Titler Pro 3 full for all versions.

(jetdv) I will certainly post a link to Titler Pro 4 as soon as I have a finalized link to send. We've had good luck with a current beta but there's still another issue to finish up.

Will this cure the problems I described (so basically destroying an existing Titler Pro 2 full installation with a Titler Pro express installation)?

What a complete disaster Vegas 14 is. How a company can release an upgrade in this condition is beyond the pale. Obvously, this new company, Magix, did not test this release with any rigor. How is it possible that they did not test SV14 with TitlerPro? How is it possible that the install breaks/deletes previous version of TP? I just paid $250 for a piece of junk that killed by TP4 installation and replaced it with Titler Express, an inferior version of TP.

Hey Magix - you need to seriously get your sh*t together and get a QA department that can create a professional test plan and test scripts for your product.

I explained that in the previous post. For your titles to seamlessly migrate to the new version, it has to replace. If you had two versions, you would have to manually migrate every title in every project. By replacing, the titles automatically migrate for you. A single title cannot cannot be seen by multiple versions.

and, yes, I will post the needed information as soon as I have it.

Have managed to get something working:  *** POSSIBLE WORKAROUND ***

right-clicking on the QuickEdit titler templates opens the folder location, revealing more templates present than there are being displayed (date suggests a previous install?).

Through the template dropbox dialog (on the right) I opened the one's I wanted, in the proper TitlerPro window, then saved them in a different name in a different location. I then found one template (corporate-clean) that wasn't crashing on me on edit, and could be modified. This included frame rate and picture size. I also noticed all the transition templates are not there/in a different folder; simply copying them across doesn't resolve the issue unfortunately...copy/paste the supplied fade worked though.

Could JetDv kindly refresh me where I get the serial number for my TitlerPro that came with Vegas11.  Would that be in an email?  Something that I get from NewBlue?  Sorry just need a point in the right direction please to recover the serial for the install that was deleted by the VegasPro 14 install.  Thanks.  Erik
