I adjusted the color intensities to my liking and you know that working with 8-bit video has its problems. But your appreciation of clipping in the audio surprises me because I made sure to do a loudness normalization for Youtube of -14 dB LUFS. It can be seen in the Youtube statistics:

I used to download 4K Video Downloader (Free version) and the results in Vegas Pro 15 and 19 are similar on my side. And you are very right: I was very clear about what I wanted to show. But with 8-bit videos, unfortunately, sometimes you have to choose if you love dad more than mom.

@Musicvid looks like you have +6db of gain on your audio master bus. Based on the track level reading a peak of -0.8db while the master bus meter reads +5.2. It doesn't show as a volume control adjustment and I don't see any active fx so my guess is that there might be a volume envelope on your master bus dragged all the way to the top.
Actually, I had two event copies on the timeline to test the LUT, and both audio tracks were live.

Wow .. everybody .. thanks for the kind words .. I've done a number of these little story films to sort of get back to my roots in film-making. Mostly I've been doing "trip videos" in recent years ..but lately no trips .. The editing is different when you are shooting from a script. In some ways it's harder to organize. But Vegas has the tools. I found myself using the "explorer" rather than "project media" and a second instance of Vegas to preview and select different takes. The new 11900 machine certainly helped smooth things. Editing with full frame rates is a joy! ..
