I also use the IceCream recorder and have the same issue. I am currently using Vegas Platinum. Is there a solution? I have tried to output the data in H264 or MPEG4, and still get same problem. Help!

Vegas does not like variable framerates as yours that is 2,5 till 30 frames per second and maybe that Codec Mpeg 4-visual is not a known codec for Vegas.
I think it is better to convert those videofiles with Handbrake to mp4 AVC with constant framerate.

I did try OBS Studio, that does work. Thanks for that hint. Though that was after I paid 30.00 for the Ice Cream Recorder software to verify issue. Be it as it may... Ice Cream works on a ton of platforms... It should work under Vegas as well.. If it is just a codec.. Vegas should handle that .. I tried H264 and MPEG4 on AVI, MP4 and MOV ( so 6 combos ... ) none worked on Vegas. ALL worked on the other movie software I own.. I like Vegas.. but it has some issues.. I'll keep trying .. but not 100% satisfied with it.. and the stalls and go off into space episodes... and I have only three major packages loaded on that machine.. I purchased a machine JUST to do these video edits with Vegas Platinum...

I question the premise that any NLE should have built-in support for every acquisition codec or video format that another entity choses to use.  

I am sorry that you felt that I offended you. I am a retired programmer, 53+ years coding... so I do get carried away. And I never said that some issue should be ENSLAVED.. and Yes, I posted in the wrong group.. but from the threads, PROFESSIONAL has the same issue with Ice Cream Recorder and two others. I use. It is just as wise to tell Ice Cream recorder to offer another option on THEIR encoding. ( And I have ) And if the Codec isn't supported, then a message popup should come up saying that.. would eliminate a lot of confusion. ( These posts wouldn't have occurred.. )
